I have to share this news!

I had two albino jills (the yellow ones) at first, and they would steal ANYTHING and hide it under the cupboards. Corks, cutlery, even tealights. All stored neatly in a little hidey-hole. They even used to climb up the back of the kitchen cupboards to steal things from the drawers, lol.

When shall i ring the rescue? I have been on their websites and it says that they're not closed over christmas but will not be rehoming untill january, however we can still go and reserve furries to pick up after new years eve. Shall i ring them up today or wait till tomorrow? i'm too excited to be patient :)

Congrats!! Ferrets fall under the 'fun to play with but I wouldn't want to live with one' category for me. But then again, so do most pets. I live in horse barn, so I prefer my personal living space to be free of creatures that can't flush the toilet themselves. :)

Ferrets are fun little critters though. The stealing, the scampering back and forth and bolting off in mock horror. :)

Ferrets are always something I've loved but never had a thing to do with or thought about owning... If that makes sense? :P

Personally I think the polecat coloured ones are beautiful!

yeah, i really like the very dark polecats :)
i'm going to visit one of the centres tomorrow afternoon to hopefully pick out and reserve 2 fuzzies! :D eeeeeeeek :D as soon as they're reserved i will post a pic, and as soon as they get home, you will have tons of pictures :D i'm so excited :D

We have 2 neutered hobs, mark an albino, and spencer who is a polecat. They smell a little, but not that much. They are coming up to 6 years old now. They live outside, but we have fully ferret proofed the garden and often let them out to play when we are there. In the summer, when we actually get one, and it is hot, they often jump in the pond and go for a swim!

My hob has an implant, which has removed his ferrety smell and also protects against adrienal cancer. The are fantastic pets, but can never be left unsupervised. Even if you have ferret proofed the house.

Update on the Christmas Turkey that Lydia had "hidden" - no where to be seen this morning, so after a rigorous checking of beds, I have concluded that she actually ATE MEAT - all of it

well done to little Lydia! :D lady from rescue couldn't do thursday :( but we have a meeting with her and the fuzzies on friday at 1 :D i've been speaking to her through facebook and we might have already found the 2 that sound perfect for us, 2 polecat ferrets, one hob and one jill, about 2 years old, both been microchipped, vaccinated and spayed/neutered, and litter trained and used to living in the house :D they sound perfect, and the one picture i've had, i love them already! we're going to see them all anyway and meet the lady and have a chat, so fingers x'd :D eeeeeek, excited! will post an update after we've been to visit them :D

Update on visit:
We arrived at the rescue and had a chat to the lovely lady, she then showed us all the ferrets they have for rehoming, we held and cuddle a few but there were only 2 that i was truly interested in :D Lady then showed us the play room where all the furries are let out to play :) We then had another good chat and we decided to reserve two furries that i loved from the second i saw them :D They are aprox 2 years old, a hob and jill, both neutered, they're called gavin and stacey :D They will be coming home next week :D
I got to hold them both, gavin is a big boy and he was just happy to curl up in my arms and sleep, whereas stacy is a small fast little thing and is a proper fidget bum, she would not sit still, not even for 1 sec :D I love them both though :)
Here's a picture of them both, Stacey is the one with the pink nose and gavin is the one with a brown nose :)

Now i just have to wait till next week and they will be mine :D

HURRAH !!!! OMG they are gorgeous ! And I love their names too. Hobs do seem to be a lot less skittish than some of the girls I've had, much more laid back :)

Lydia and Coco's favourite game atm is towel surfing - just hold one end of a towel, drag it round the room, and they hop on and surf (plus have a huge play bust up on it) - Lydia can surf for AGES, we should start it up as a sport really ;)

Which food you going for ??

A mix of JWB and Chudleys, because lady from rescue said its best to mix, and both foods are sold at our local store so that'd be easiest :)
Yeah, he was quite happy to be held by everyone and stroked and then he cuddled up and fell asleep whereas stacey would not sit still and kept twisting away and trying to investigate and explore everything, she then tried to get into a cage with some other furries :D when we finally put them back in their cage, gavin just said woddled off to sleep in his bed, whereas stacey kept scratching at the mesh, climbing up, running around the enclousure, climbing into their bed and squishing herself against the window and scratching and licking and biting at the glass :) she would not settle lol :) but the second you paid attention to her, she stopped and ran to the cage door and waited there :D We are expecting her to go absolutely mad the first time she's let out at home, and we are expecting him to just walk around sniffing, find a comfy spot and sleep :D i can't wait :)

Ahhh congrats-they are cute and a really good pic of them too. Both pastel polecats by the look of them. Agree with twinkle shy-the boys do tend to be more laid back. Add 'harrietsham ferret rescue' on fb. There is a link on there that is an auction selling all kinds of ferret stuff and other links to people selling cool ferret boxes and 'rhett

'rhett and co' who sell made to order etc ferret hampers and bedding and stuff. Sorry pressed send before I finished. Congrats again. Gavin and stacey. Great names lol. :-D
