Little swine zipped into the maize fields up top, helped herself and carried it the twenty minutes home - y'know that proud strut they do?

No worries about that, she was holding it very precisely and nibbling the kernels off very genteel-ly, the empty cob now holds no interest and will be going in the bin next time I get up. :p

Was the proud strut the canine equivalent of a piaffe/half pass/canter pirouette? I am well versed in such struts... :p

Yes! I wish I had my camera with me, it made me giggle all the way home. Tail high and curved over at the tip, head high, trailing maize plant in mouth, alternate legs aaaaaand.... strut! :D

Katielou, I was wondering how on earth he managed a pumpkin, then it reminded me of this:

Exactly like that when they are small enough. Now they are getting much bigger he picks them up by the stalk on top and kind of drags them. We have to stop every 20 steps so he can get a better grip on it.
