Claire has just walked it and says it asks lots of questions , she is doing the novice but she says the intro is quite testing! She said something about a drop [or step maybe] to a skinney which walked as 10 strides and she was worried about that , the Trakehner[sp] was as big as she remembered, she now wishes she had done the xc at Eland lodge so that he had some practice. oh dear!

eek, i wanted a nice run before Houghton having not run xc since Poplar park, does she say what the ground is like??

She'll be fine, 10 strides is fine a nice short 2 stride distance so you can just pop off the edge of the drop

If the Nov and Intro looks testing hopefully the PN will be straightforward

Hi, I am going to come along on thurs, (hopefully) just to walk the XC and watch and learn as they say, as I'm at aston next sat, so if you know her times I can come and find you to say hello.

I like to go to local events, just to watch and see what kind of questions they have in theri tracks, so I can try to be more prepared.

But yes last year it rained and the ground was heavy but I had a great run XC I think wookie thought he was hunting, he came back to get us a 3rd in the pn, but i think the ground holds up quite well to rain, at the moment though i would be more concerned about how hard it is. Good luck to Claire.

I go xc at 14 22!! The big white one trying not to go too fast, i wish it would be wet, as you say im more worried about the hard!

in the N there is a small log in the water but a wide house going in, it rides well though, and they usually use a ski jump, the trakhener is a good size, they usually have 2 steps up to a brush or skinny!

Times are about 11.40 /12.40/13.30 but that is a rough idea. Expect lots of stress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pale blue box and Penfold can be spotted a mile off and if he is doing passage and has a rider looking like thunder then speak to me instead, lol.

I agree Milz88 - i'm planning to school my boy tomorrow morn and then go over to have a look at the intro and watch some PN XC in the afternoon.

GREAT - First intro and the last thing we need is a drop to a skinny!!!!!

I assume the drop is after the bank and therefore down hill - Must tell Lilly tonight that drops can just be stepped off and there is not need to launch!!!!!

Well you had all better do well to cheer me up for not going!
Itsa good job I withdrewas Moo has cut his hock today - unless he did it to spite me !! good luck everyone x
