I heart my horse and the opportunities she gives to me

Most of all i love my OH...for helping me buy/keep/train/compete said horses and get me closer to my dreams.

I soo agree with this. My husband is saintly the amount of time and money I devote to my pony/competing. Especially as we have a young family and are far from wealthy.

I love my girl because she has taken me to places I never thought I would go - I am a middle aged mum but I have competed for Scotland (twice!) and travelled for miles in her wonderful company. She is clever and committed and I trust her to look after us in the stickiest of situations. I know my girl will take me to the ends of the earth and bring me home safely.

She is a hundred mile endurance pony with many wins to her name. She also part of the family. I love my pony because I can tie her up in the back garden to wash her tail while the children play, then win a 50 mile race the next day.

I love my pony because she will lead the hunt when the Masters horse threw a shoe, then get told off for going too fast 'it isn't fair on the bigger horses, they can't keep up downhill' when my pocket rocket hasn't broken out of her endurance trot.

I love mine for the dreams she gave me, and the way she 'smiles' when she sees me coming

I too was over come with love for my horse this week, when I realised that I had been lucky enough to own him for nine years and have known him since he was a yearling that will be 12 years in total this year.

Ralph is the kindest and most placid horse I have ever known or owned and he's my best friend, unconditioned love

It must be - I was overcome with adoration for my Roo this weekend. though I haven't ridden him for a year and he's been to hell and back with his health he is slowly on the mend and always so over joyed to see me its heart warming. He lept over a ditch to get to me quicker this week - which is quite a feat with his poorly legs and when i remember the huge amount of fun I had on him I feel like I could burst with pride. But mainly I love him because he is my best friend and he loves me so much... he's with me til the end however long or short that journey is going to be...

I love Thumper because there is something very special about him - I'm not sure I can even put my finger on it.

He's the horse I spent the last 10 years dreaming of owning, and to have that honour is very humbling.

That is just lovely

I love them because they don't worry about money, where they are going in life, poorly relatives...........they just want a banana. Watching them dribble out mushed 'nanas makes all my troubles melt away and even thinking about it now makes me smile all day.

What a lovely post- it's so important to remember the good times and things and when times are tough, they remind us why we do this!

I heart my horse because she's exactly the perfect type of horse for me, even though I wasn't so sure when I first saw her! I always dreamed of a 16hh+ coloured gelding and ended up with a 15.2hh "boring bay" (my previous thoughts!) mare!

She is so honest when jumping, I've never ever had her refuse a fence even I fling her at fences on all the wrong strides in a panic. I have regained SO much confidence jumping-wise with her that I feel I can take on anything with her and trust her 100%.

She's fun and forward to ride, yet safe enough I can put absolutely anyone on board for a plod and know she'll behave. She can be ridden every day or once a week and never think of napping or bucking. In her head she's a racehorse and we have the most amazing gallops- vision blurry and eyes watering, can't think of a better feeling.

I also love my husband to bits as he makes it all possible and made even more dreams come true for me last year by adding a trailer to the package, so now we can really get out and about and we're having loads of fun together. I only wish she was 10 years younger as she's 17 now and I hate to think of the time when we can't do all these things together.
