I'm jumping on this band wagon too! Although looking on the bright side, if it is cancelled it means I can get sozzled at a certain HHOers wedding the night before rather than being on best behaviour
Fingers crossed for Somerley too - I have both mine entered so double disappointment if that doesn't run. I can't believe that the ground was at risk of being too firm there in march
Went schooling there just before it got closed..ground was good then and not waterlogged although the "BMX track" through the woods (;-)) was pretty slippy. It is sand based so it should take quite a lot..they were hopeful at that stage but they did say if it rains every day between now and the event then they weren't so sure...and it has rained pretty much every day since. On a positive note...at the moment forecast for next week is a bit better.....??? Can you see how much I am trying to be positive here????
I am another that somehow has managed to get 5 runs without cancellation?! I think my luck has ran out though and its not looking great for Iping... The course ground is holding up well apprantly (I know the organiser) but its the lorry park that wont cope... they say if they get a good 48 hours of dry weather they can probably run... not looking likely is it!!!!
Doesn't sound like it will run, the weather forecast is not great for next week It's so hard to get motivated to get ready when you don't know if it's going to go ahead or not!
I haven't had one cancelled yet! Even to the point of dodging the bullet by competing at Rackham on Saturday before they cancelled the Sunday....Here's hoping that Iping isn't the one that breaks my good run! (It's not looking good is it...trying to stay positive but thinking of the course last year when we hadn't had the biblical proportions of rain that we've had the last few weeks) Fingers crossed!
I'm really not optimistic about it running whilst the rain keeps coming!. Has anyone heard anything about the ground there or the likelihood of it being cancelled?
Anyone have any news on Iping running? I'm going to walk the course tomorrow so will see whether the groud will suit if it does go ahead. I think more rain is forecast for tomorrow!
Would be great to hear any news about Iping. I am in the 100 on Sunday and would be keen to know if it is going to run and, if it does, what the ground will be like.
Thanks in advance to anyone with any info
Rach_W _ i too am going over tomorrow to walk course unless we hear anything beforehand. TBH - given the forecast for tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel Sat and let Sunday run since Sat has a much better forecast. I have become quite a geek about different weather forecast sites this week ( ;-)) and it certainly hasn't been relentless over there but i think it's the lorry park that might be the determining factor. If we don't hear anything beforehand then I am happy to report back tomorrow on ground for everyone else's benefit...
Please keep us posted on the ground as I'm in two minds about going... I only compete for fun so don't have a schedule to keep or ultimate goal so not too bothered to miss one run if its very slippy! Would hate to have a silly mistake due to the ground as its been going well so far! (apart from knocking sj poles behind but hey can't have everything!)
