Well had Lucinda Green clinic today - she was fab, after a massive rush and change of times due to her needing to gallop her horse b4 Blair next week and then stuck in major traffic we then managed to start first group for 1.15pm with 4 groups of 2 hrs to get through!

And me pulling my hair out at this moment!!

Anyway 1st group went well but had to lend my saddle to someone as they had put their dressage in instead of their jump saddle which was fine, but ment I didnt get the walk round the block I wanted on Cruz so got on and walked aorund fine and then we was to trot round and jump small crosses popped Cruz into trot (Cruz is the most level headed 4yr old ive ever known but nether the less still 4!!) Trotted past a jump and a ladies horse had stoppped and she had fallen off nxt to Cruz, Cruz found this awfully exciting and threw her head down and bronced a few times I shouted at her to stop and she got in a tizz reared bolt upright (which I managed to stay on to) But she then came down and bucked and spat me off at force!! Landed on shoulder and bent thumb nail almost clean off

gross - shoulder wasnt too painful few people said just get on with it so I did, so continued on 2 hr lesson and Cruz was a star, then finished up with large ish triple rail and that was it she flew it but as I gave with my hands and oh my god the pain, then burst into tears and spent ten mins deciding on how to get off without pain! Mum took me to A&E and sure enough it was broken!

Have some piccies to post which were kindly taken by Tori (FMC) Thanks! And a big thanks to Bee and Thistle (mandy) for coming and for coming to see my collar bone!!

frown.gif
im bored already!!!

Thanks so much for all the organising! Great to meet you and Finn McCool.

When you were crying with the pain you kept telling me you weren't a wimp. I think the fact that you rode for 2 hours with a broken collar bone shows us just how brave you were! And you thought the pain was due to a bent nail!

Cruz is lovely, such a sweetie.

We joined the list or borrowerers and lenders too.

I lent a long girth to the person who had brought the wrong saddle and then found we didn't have a short girth for the wow saddle. Holly rescued us!

Hope you found the girth I put it back by your tack room.

I'm ssending a very gentle hug!

Lucinda was quite worried when I told her I had a look and thought it was either broken or dislocated as it was in the wrong place!

Ouch
Poor you

at least i guess you got to finish your lesson with Cruz

and she was a good girlie.
ARGH about the rest of the season tho

Last year I organised a clinic with my trainer over 2 days poor SV also broke his collar bone coming to a final jump.
I hope you managed to sleep okay, and feel better soon.

HUGS hon

I was really looking forward to see your post about this as I might try and go to one of her clinics soon.

Well done for finishing it although I would not recomend t to anyone.
I wish you a speedy recovery and cant wait to see you next competition report.

I hope you dont get too bored.

Oh no, what horribly bad luck but you were very brave to carry on. I expect the pain will subside soon but the boredom is long term I guess - doh

Poor You - I broke my collar bone and it does really hurt. I had to have about 4 months of riding

[/ QUOTE ]

I have done mine twice and I was riding in 4 weeks after one and 6 after another so hopefully won't take that long.

Oh no!

You did so well to get back on and ride....you were looking rather pastey white

Thistle - I think i have some pics of your pony too...will pm them to you.

T xx

I have so much respect for you for getting back on and riding with a broken collar bone! When I broke mine I couldn't even sit up without almost passing out
crazy.gif
.... and I thought I was supposed to have a high pain threshold!

Poor you, i can sympathize as I'm just back after fracturing mine. Only taken 6 weeks before I could ride properly, although no XC as it's not healed correctly so not as strong as before. Its funny mine didn't hurt till about 3 hours after i did mine to, must be when the adrenalin starts to wear off!! Got another hosp appointment first week in Sept to see if I need mine pinning, but as I have been riding fine and managing to get my clothes on and off over my head (I think you will know what I'm getting at!!), I think I won't need to.
Any way top tips are:
1) a pillow under your bad shoulder whilst sleeping
2) plenty of arnica and ibuprofen tablets
3) cold compress
4) don't over do it but do try to gently move shoulder around after a couple of weeks to help with the healing.

Feel better soon

Wow cannot believe you carried on with it - My brother fell off his scrambler last year and he was in agony he could not move and he is seriously tough! Glad the horse went well!

Owch owch owch - poor you!! HUGE well done for getting back on and riding for 2hours with a broken collar bone
shocked.gif
you're definately an eventer at heart lol!

Oh no!! what a shame am so sorry. You were really brave to have carried on like that!
I snapped my collarbone before and it was painfull for about 3 weeks but after 3 weeks I was just about able to ride. 6-8 weeks later hardly felt any pain at all.

Well atleast HHOs do know they've other bits to break other than ankles
wink.gif

Sounds like a good day bar the broken collar bone
frown.gif

Hope you're out and about asap ~hug~
