I know i'm a soft touch but...

He hasn't done much 'rescuing' though has he? How the hell did it manage to make the trip over to the UK in that state? The other two he has for sale are in better shape, presumably he enough grass/food for them though?! Does anyone know if any horse welfare organisations trawl the for sale ads and if they find something that looks in a poor state can they do anything for it? What a shame, I like the look of him but for me it would be just too much of an unknown quantity...
 
I think he looks worse than he is because he has no muscle. I think a bit of good grass and some fittening work will sort him out. I also think that he is standing akwardly in the pic, my mare does that too. Its still no excuse to let the horse get into this state.. I'm sure someone nice will buy him..

We rely on people alerting us in for sale ads. We ring up and enquire about looking at the horse and have a nosey. Some cases are genuine but at one place where a similar condition horse was for sale we discovered a dealer with many emaciated horses - over 100! due to neglect.

I am looking into it. I have contacted the owner. Its being Cheshire the problem at the minute. If it was down the road i would have made an apointment to view today. I have asked if anyone is in Cheshire - to just view - and let us know what is going on. It could be a genuine rescue case as i said before, this is what i need to find out.
We need genuine enquiries and not someone saying what they think as it could be wrong and put his back up which makes things harder. A quiet word works wonders to start with.

We also need to take a wider view of what is going on. I have asked horsemart if they can answer some questions. At this point it is a case of assessing the situation - has he rescued it or is it lack of care.
 
Goodness me. I am close and may go and have a nose but there is no way I could afford to take this poor horse on. I will give him a ring and see where abouts he is.
 
Read on another forum that he has now been sold. To someone who is going to feed him up and give him some love I hope. He does like in a sad and sorry state.

Do you have a link to the post on the forum. Would be good to hear if the buyer had a nosey regards condition of other horses/what the seller said. If genuine rescue case or not.

Seems like it has been a strong talking point. It could be genuine but i have a nagging to a previous case. If he has had many emails calls could have put him off. May be worth ringing about one of the others in a few days.
