I know that Hi Viz has been done to death, but ......

when I saw a girl riding back from her hack, on a Dark Bay, with a back protector on, but no Hi Viz, I just thought that took the biscuit (confused smilie here!) .....
 
I left the yard (driving) not long after my friend (riding) the other day. As i got to the junction i looked one way and the first thing i saw was her hi-vis jacket. It was a bright sunny day but i wasnt looking into the sun. but i didnt see her or the horse first- it was the jacket. I always wear hi-vis but it was a good reminder of how important it is to wear it.

Apart from anything else i dont want my insurance company to have an excuse to wriggle out of paying up should (heaven forbid) i ever have a problem on the road.
 
I wore some today, Hat band, boot bands, arm bands, And I ended up leading everyone across roads, stopping traffic, and riding at the back to alert drivers. And yet, when I left the yard I was laughed at? The heavens opened half way round and I wished I had worn all of my gear, Which is always the case. So ive decided I will always wear all my high viz, no matter what the weather :)
 
And another reason for wearing hi-viz- when i was lying in a field in the middle of nowhere it was easier for the air ambulance to find me! So many reasons to wear it really, im amazed when people dont!

That is EXACTLY what I have always thought .... when I used to go out for hours, off road but still togged up in Hi Viz, I always knew I could be spotted from above, whatever!
 
It might have been done loads but until everyone wears it it needs saying. Until I came on here I didn't routinely wear Hi Viz. Didn't really see the point when going on a hack in broad daylight.

Now I've seen the pictures that show you a horse without and a horse with I would never, ever hack out without it on.
 
So we need to keep this bumped up, until everyone wear it then !?

My point was that this person, made the effort to put a Body Protector on, but could not be bothered with High Viz (I presume!) ..... so as long as she is ok, then she could not give a **** about the horse !!

Sorry if this sounds rude, but I care about horses so much, (the innocent victims, in an accident) it needs to hit home :(

Completly agree I always carry spares for friends and say I wouldn't be a good frined if I didn't insist!!
