fly masks, reviews please, and I don't mind how pretty/easy to clean/well they keep flies off/well they stay on, I want to know HOW DIFFICULT THEY ARE TO TRASH?! pony has been through 3 in 2 weeks and they are all utterly ruined! he has to wear one all year round as he has a protruding third eyelid. any help would be muchly appreciated!!

I can not help I am afraid but I would like to know if anyone knows of any that will not come off! I have quite a few non trashed ones but they are all dotted round the field as he seems to be able to get them off within a few minutes... I've watched him do it, he seems to have a little wiggle rolling routine all choreographed for it!! Incidentally the one I have had for longest seems to be a slightly thicker material but slightly more open mesh, will check the make tonight but I really want to say its a Roma one, the thinner mesh seems to stick to the velcro and rip.

Is your pony in a field with barbed wire? Because my 2 are and they go through a mask a week each. Moving to a yard with all electric fencing soon and I CANNOT WAIT. So I think your only issue might be fencing?

Could also be other horses NellRosk. Now that the youngster in the field next to my horses has left, their fly masks are staying on. I used to find them chewed and trashed.

Best I've tried is premier equine, last longest even when horse tries to remove it with a tree and cuts eye... They seem to withstand abuse hurled at them (mine wears one all summer - I go through 1 or 2 a summer now instead of one a week)

I think my pony was put on this earth to trash rugs, masks etc. The Mark Todd mask with ears seems quite robust, it has lasted all summer & she keeps it on.

This is a good one for horses that take fly masks off regularly (Equilibrium - the non-ear cover version with velcro at the poll) It does still come off in an emergency, as it should do if the horse catches it on a branch, for example.

I have a Premier Equine full fask mask with nose which has lasted all summer, including 6 weeks on 24/7 in an orchard. My favourite one though is a Felix Bueler mask which is on it's second summer, and only now needs the detachable nose restitching after new pony stepped on it while she was having an itch. It has two wide tapes under the jowl, and it doesn't budge at all.
