...but this forum has lots of traffic and I'm hoping to get maximum exposure for this particular appeal.

A woman I was once friends with ages ago has gone missing in Edinburgh. I haven't seen her in a few years now so I was shocked to read in the papers about her disappearance just after the last bank holiday (4th May). According to the police and CCTV, she managed to get off her bus and walk as far as her office but never made it inside. I kept thinking maybe she's done a runner, decided she wasn't going to go to work that day and came in to meet someone etc instead of work. But that wouldn't make any sense if she got to her office building. So now instead of a missing person case the police have upped this to a murder investigation.

Also, there's a FB page set up - to join to help get the information out as much as possible

Sorry to spam HHO like this.

That is bizarre, I really hope she turns up, perhaps a little red faced that she forgot to tell anyone.

That's just the thing - she spoke to her folks just before disappearing - you'd think if she'd been speaking to them on a daily basis that she'd have mentioned she was going away. At first I thought she must not have been going to work (she didn't look dressed ready for the office, but maybe in that job she could go more casual?). But if she got as far as the front door of her office, surely she'd not have just decided "nahhh, can't do it..." and go somewhere else and not be in touch with ANYone.

Suzanne quite liked it up north - Malaig, Skye, etc - so who knows, maybe she HAS just hopped aboard a bus to go for a jolly and not have any access to TV. But surely she'd need to access her bank cards at least once over the two, nearly three weeks. She's not made of money!

I used to work in that area of town with a 20 minute walk to get there. I never ever once felt worried about my safety, even after dark. But this was during morning commute time, broad daylight, with lots of people around. I think she maybe got in to a car with someone she knew...and what happened after that, who knows?!

:(

There's just conflicting news that I read in the papers. At the moment they are trying to track down a silver family type saloon in the Argyll / Bute/ Rest and Be Thankful area that was there between 1 and 3.30 pm and between 6 and 9 pm on Wed 5 May.

One paper went so far as to say that they suspect it's a collegue that possibly killed her on Tuesday (4th) and then dumped her body on the Wednesday (5th). I don't know how they could now this without a body?!?! I'm sure there's lots of details that the police aren't going to share with the press that is vital to their investigations, but there's so much misinformation floating about that it's unreal!

Seems that the theory that she might have willingly gone in to a car with someone she knew was a strong one. Though to me it's a mystery why she would be about to enter her work, and then get in to a car instead. Maybe she was lured out by a collegue afterall - an office errand pretense?!

I hope hope hope that she's okay. But if she's not...well I guess the best to hope for is that her body is found so that her family aren't tormented with questions for the rest of their lives about where she is, what happened to her...
