I lost my darling Rebel today.

Sorry to hear of your loss. What a beautiful picture of you two.

I cannot imagine how awful it must be, but take some comfort in that you did the kindest thing, and made such a brave decision, for him. He couldn't have asked for better. x

So, so sorry. Your tribute to him has brought me to tears. What a stunning horse he was. He looks almost identicle to an ex racer I lost three years ago, also with two bowed tendons, and an absolute star to ride. Sadly he broke his leg in the field and was PTS on the spot. So sad for you. It is a very difficult time and you feel as though it will never get better. But it does, with time. I went into a very deep depression after I lost my boy, but it does get easier.

Oh hunny :( (((hugs))) I am so sorry for your loss, Rebel was indeed a King and gorgeous as well. Take care of yourself, cry as much as you need to, and in time you will remember the happy memories.

Thank you for all your replies. I have managed to stop crying (and vomiting!) for part of today. Took the dog for a three hour walk on the fells earlier wearing dark glasses so that I could cry in peace and even managed to do the shopping without breaking down on the checkout operator. But I truly know how heartache feels now.....does the pain ever stop?
