A few days a go I got a call from my friend who was checking on my 2 horses while I worked ( I was going the evening) to say my horse wasn't eating her haynet and was bloated. I instantly left work and called the vet. They live out with shelter I walked her slowly to a flat bit of field incase she decided to roll. And the vet came and examined her and her intestines were that enlarged he couldn't feel passed them. He gave her pai killer and buscapan and we started to talk about options. Then all of a sudden she started gasping for breath and she died. I am so devastated this horse was my absolute everything.
She had colic when I first got her 5 years ago. But hasn't had it since. I really try manage her. She's a chunky cob. The weather has been horrendous and -6 at some points. But I made sure she had hay nets/ water and rugged. Just feel i let her down somehow
.
She lives with my daughters cheeky pony and he is ok.
