Yesterday I lost me dear old man. A branch fell from a huge tree in his field and frightened him senseless as it fell, he took of in a blind panic and tried to jump a fence while not really concentrating. It looks like be came down on his head. My dad was working at the farm at the time and heard the branch. He said it was so loud he thought a tree was coming down. He then heard hooves thundering and then James whinney and he found him on the wrong side of the fence convulsing. He said he was trying to get up but he could tell he was out of. He called the vet and then called me.

I knew the minute he phoned that he wouldn't be getting up again. I shoot home from London and found Jim had been sedated and was comfortable where he lay. I gave him huge cuddles and fuss, and bless him he definitely knew I was there.

Then we let him go.

My heart is in a million pieces, I cry every 2 seconds and at the moment I feel that life will never be good again.

I know in time I'll be able to look back on all the fantastic memories our 17 years together has bought us but for now its like there is a massive James shaped hole in my heart that will never be filled.

James I love you with all my heart, you proud, brave, gentle soul. You may have been no world beater but you were honest, genuine brave and fun. I have treasured our every moment together and you not being here is the hardest thing to take......love you little man xxx
