I love my dogs - they have been brilliant (soppy, self indulgent post)

So today was our fifth day's picking up this season and I just cannot believe how utterly fantastic my two dogs are. They make me so proud

They try their little hearts out, working in the very thickest cover, non stop, they would go all day to find that very last bird that every other dog has missed.

I was thinking today how much my dogs love me - its so humbling to receive that unconditional love.

When we had the fire and all the fireman were trooping in and out for hours, they just sat in the garden and waited when normally any visitor that comes to the house they have to be there to greet and expecting to be petted and loved - they just knew that something was going on and they had to stay out of the way - how amazing is that?

Sorry, ridiculous soppy post - yes I am on the wine (again) and yes, I am all emotional - but thank God for my dogs

I couldn't possibly imagine life without them.

They are both tired out and curled up in front of the fire now - awwww

Bless them, nothing beats a good springer... and I suppose Toby is okay too

My OH has never had a dog before Otto and is amazed at the unconditional love he gives, I keep telling him, why do think I prefer dogs to people!

I missed your post about the fire/firemen - hope there is not to much damage and everyone is ok and the clearing up is manageable. Having had to clear up after a fire myself I know how much the smell sticks to everything.
