following on from my Grrrrrrr post last night (thanks to all those who replied, it was very much appreciated & the choccie lol) I rang him last night at about 8.30 after riding D and him throwing shoe whilst riding. Got his lovely wife who said will pass on message. This morning at 7am she rang to say he would be here at about 6.30 this evening. Now that is what I call service. He knows what D's feet are like so does what he can to be out asap if he throws one. There will be a lovely cup of steaming tea and the biggest cream donut waiting for him as well as a clean horse in the stable. Whoop!!!! Yay!!!

Me too, my horse has thrown 3 shoes in the past 6 weeks and he's been out within 2 days every time!

I now give him prior warning when I have an event where a farrier won't be present!

Me too.

My horse's feet seem to get really bad between July and September for some reason (drying out/hard ground etc). Well I am surprised he kept his shoe on this week... when farrier took the fronts off today, the feet just crumbled away like stale bread.

He's a bit foot sore, but the farrier cut him back enough to right the feet for now.

I love my farrier because he's just so knowledgeable and experienced and always knows exactly what to do.
