Went to Vale view to do the trailblazers, got there almost 2 hours after the clear round had started expecting to get on, pop round the 85cm and 95cm and come home. Imagine my face when I found out the clear roud was still running

Decided was not hanging around, so would have 2 confident building runs around the 75cm and 85cm, and was only 2nd time out since his holiday

Goddy was lovely, very chilled out to handle, a bit strong warming up

but nothing nasty. Nupties were putting the fences up to silly heights, but flew an upright and 2 oxers beautifully, went in, set up in a beautiful rhythm and popped round clear. Waited for ages for the JO, did fantastic turn back after the first fence to cut time, jumped beautifully off the turn, tried again after the double, but due to pilot error, ended up jumping a non JO fence backwards!!

Goddy was brill bless him, but my steering was shocking there was nothing he could do!! But he jumped clear, but obviously Elim due to muppet error

Wouldnt of been placed anyway as everything was galloping round, and Goddy says eventers don't have to go fast SJing!

Froze my arse off waiting for the 85cm, walked round for a bit, jumped one fence and went and jumped what I felt to be a copybook round. Set him in a rhythm, he stayed in it, met every fence perfectly and pinged round for another clear. Almost an hour later (!!!!!) did our jump off, Goddy was tired from waiting around all day so just popped round quietly, for our second double clear and 9th place.

So pleased with him, think that is more clear rounds in a day than we've managed all together

So definitely ready for a bigger class next time, although now aiming to work on our dressage. But i love my pony!!

Well done, it's good when it is a good day out, makes it all worth while!
Isn't is so annoying when you get the idiots sticking massive fences up in the warm up area. Can't see the point.
smile.gif

Yeah it is a pain, but luckily we werent bothered today
tongue.gif
They did seem to be out in force today though! Was still a blooming long day, least with dressage and Eventing you get times!!

Well done! I always seem to warm up at the same time as people putting the warm up fence to ridiculous heights, and taking it over, not letting anyone else have a chance to jump it before they change it! So bl**dy irritating!!
The last time i went to VV,people kept turning up to do the CR whilst the first class was running and pushing in the running order, really annoyed me as i was next to go in, had hen nicely warmed up without overworking him and i had to wait whilst 5 people pushed in!!

Yeah people do seem to appear thinking it is their right to push in!
crazy.gif
they wrote the no.s on paper today which was good, as you knew noone could move you about. Honestly you didnt miss much today, the 75cm didnt finish till 5

Thats late! I think my friends went today, glad i didnt cant stand waiting about! Much prefer getting times!
They had the numbers written down the last time, but all these CR turned up, so the class stopped while they went round just as i was about to go in! They werent even quick, they took ages warming up, and pratting around! Grrr!
mad.gif

I think Caroline would have booted anyone out who came for CR after the CR had ended...it was so busy, mainly with people on horses that didnt look like they wanted to be there...

Lol! I was trying to be clever, even though I had passed the turn on the way in and thought "ill go round, ill never make it" then some mad thing inside decided I prob could make it!!
blush.gif
I pity my horse!!

If he had any doubt he would not have jumped it, sounds like he has confidence in you. Funny how when you have a plan the bell rings and everything changes, I would love to know how our brains work lol
grin.gif

That is true, we used to have probs getting him roun dthe planned course, never mind mad mother D tours!!
tongue.gif
That is progress

Simple, bell goes, brain switches off,

What a long day, that's why I like 2 phase where you just keep going, gets it over with much quicker, less stressfull as only 1 warm up per class.

Shame about the pilot error though! Never mind though as Goddy knows he jumped clear really.

Goddy felt extra smug as he jumped an extra fence to everyone else.
tongue.gif
Makes him feel superior when he tells others how he does well with such a muppet of a mother

Well done, its seems like you had a similar day to me, I was going to do an 'I love my horse post' but was too tired (night out on Sat night!)
Roll on March!!!!

Aaargh just reread your post, you went wrong too! I got lost after the second fence, tried not to cross my tracks, but got 4 faults for it!

Hey, bless his heart! What a little star.
grin.gif
Ha ha, who's the numpty now then?

Just read the message you left on my last post, Um, not sure who you're on about, or am I just being dumb?

Ditto - won't do another post but I also had a fab SJ day with the boy yesterday (it really is our weak phase, we've been in the top 5 coming into the SJ then knocked up 28 faults before!).

Went somewhere we have never been before yesterday so was happily suprised to find a well run venue with a nice course which started off very welcoming but was up to height at the end.

Boy pulled off our first DC in ages in the 85cm....was in second on time unexpectedly - had not meant to burn it, just jump clear - until the ponios came in and shaved about 5 seconds off me. Was thrilled anyway - I want clears not speed!

Had one pole in the 95cm - was a skinny on a dog leg and he was relunctant to listen to my subtle leg aids to turn in time (so I resorted to the good tug on the mouth!) but flew everything else.

Had a pole in the next class as he was loosing concentration - kept trying to jump the course as it was for the previous class and was getting a bit fed up I think. Still was pleased with him - he was responsive and bold most of the time which is an improvement. Just need to work on getting those toes up!

Well done KatB, sounds like a very profitable outing.
