Today, Shy has been on his very first outing, out in the lorry with some mates, to a strange place, where lots of horses were out being exercised. He's only three, so it was a one off for now, but he behaved impeccibly - said hello to every passing group of horses, was full of beans, and totally loved it. On and off lorry and thru water no bother.

To me, that is what owning a horse is all about - getting home and thinking "that horse is one in a million" . I am so lucky to have found him (in a field by a footpath, unhandled etc). He is a star, and he'll be with me for the rest of my life (hopefully).

given me huge enthusiasm to plough in to the winter, which has to be a good thing  When you take on and break in an unhandled pony, it's so uncertain what he'll end up like (not least cos it was the first time I'd done it). He must be very tolerant, all I can say.

From one "Shy" owner to another...that's lovely news and I know how thrilled you must be, and rightly so. "Shy" s are the best! (Is yours short for anything? Mine is really Shiloe.)
