So. Further to my gazillion threads on the subject - I won't bore you with the details as I have done that already. Suffice to say three failed vet checks in a row have me seriously doubting my abilities to actually buy one of the wretched creatures.

I have found another horse. A recently (last 6 months) backed 6 yo (well, just turned 6 but 6 if going from 1st Jan<nods to LEC;)>) from Ireland with spectacular breeding (Cavalier Z, Clover Hill mare). She's very, very baby. And according to her passport, only 15.3. So there go two of my criteria out of the window. But...She's 500 yards (or metres in new money) up the road from me. She needs her teeth doing (I spy a wolf tooth) and her back feet are incredibly long. She needs a serious dose of Dr Green. But she's a sweetie, and I found some nice paces in there. Blank canvas. All mine to make the mistakes with. But she was priced nicely within my budget, leaving me sufficient money to have a lesson every week for the next 6 months, or for some professional schooling if I make a pig's ear of it.

I rang up my vets to chase my insurance forms AGAIN - my insurance 90 days' claim window runs out tomorrow:mad: - so they've phoned the insurance to state it was their fault and ensure that forms would be ok to send in on Monday providing they are dated today. And it was fine. I have an extended window. Hurrah!

And, of course, to book a 5 stage. I asked if a certain vet was available, and was told they'd move heaven and earth to make sure she was. They said 'Of course you can have R, R would want to do it for you.' So, so lovely to hear. I am just another old nag on her long list of clients but R has held my hand through colic, lameness and God only knows what over the last three years. I've cried on her shoulder more times than I care to remember, and she has always listened to me spouting on in my amateur vet ways without ever complaining (I have a degree in Cell Biology and Immunology...I like to think I know a little about animal illness even though I really don't).:D She has called to say she's coming on Wednesday.

Fingers crossed.
