I loved Burghly this year I think the course was lovely and had lots of questions and unlike Badminton this year they put a lot of effort into creating something origional and new.

However.... I was not very impressed thta BBC (red Botton) did not show the XC Saturday yet they decided to show bloody rowing! Equestrian sport I believe is the second most poplar spot in the UK and yet they stop everything for a load of pansy's running around kicking a ball!!!

Also the highlights on Sunday (and this is just me being spoilt maybe :)) didnt show one of my favorite riders Luicinda Fredricks go round on Parda! I must say I was disapointed!

But overall I was so thrilled for Williams win and was much desevered and I really feel for Oliver bless him such a shame.

Also what a great round for Zara and Mary well need I say any more

To be fair to the BBC, they did give us red button coverage of the European Eventing Champs from Luhmuehlen last weekend. They obviously felt they had to choose between the two events and went for the internationally higher profile one.

I loved Burghley this year! There seemed to be less crowds on the Saturday than in previous years and that made the whole day less stressful! And on the Sunday the weather didn't ruin a thing! Brilliantly run!

I did nip home on the Sunday so I would be able to get my car out of the carpark and watch the showjumping on the TV as I didn't have tickets. I thought the BBC's SJ coverage was great and the input from Ian Stark was really good. The XC was a bit disappointing, but that was expected after the brilliant broadcast from Luhmuehlen last weekend.

The only two minor issues were both H&H related! I followed the dressage on line for the full 16 hours!! AR-D was fabulous and the team were brilliant, but they mentioned one rider as 'Jock' when I enquired who this 'Jock' was I was PM'd that it was his nick-name. I was of the opinion that H&H impassively reported results. I was not aware that the team were in the practise of name dropping and proving who they know. Secondly, when I went on H&H stand on Sunday to enquire about the subscription prices the woman was off-hand and wouldn't even look at me to speak- her eyes were rolling over my head. All in all I thought it was highly unprofessional. (I am also aware that I am back on the fabulous H&H forum and reading the website...).

Over all it was a fabulous weekend!!

The BBC coverage was not great really - why on earth did they waste all that time going on and on and on about Mary King? One slot was interesting and I'm sure she's lovely and all, but she seemed to be on every five minutes - there are other riders that could ahve been profiled, and anyway given that time was short it would have been nice to get a bit more of the actual action on IMO.

Poor Oliver Townsend..
Fell with the first horse.. then the 2nd horse just said no! I was sat by the elephant trap and I had a clear view of the leaf pit, and everytime Oliver tried to get the horse over the jump, or even to face the jump it just reared higher and higher
How dissapointing though, both horses out at the XC.
