I posted yesterday about my previous loan, which ended in disaster. However got a phonecall last night of a woman who had read my advert in the tack shop. She sounded really friendly and after explaning she had a 5 year old steel grey ex racer and would like me to come and try him out. I was overjoyed and asked when and she said tomorrow (of course being yesterday, she ment today the 21st) so i agreed, naturally, After noting down the directions I thanked her again. I couldnt sleep lastnight at all. So this morning I asked my dad to give me a lift to this nice little farmyard. The lady was called, Abigail and she's got 3 other horses on her mam and dads farm so naturally had a good reason to loan this tb out. She introduced me to the horse called, Chester. He was about 16.1hh just right
. He was lovely and easy to get on and she took me to the newly converted indoor arena. She had prepared one small jump about 2ft and 3 trotting poles. She asked me to feel free to do anything. Halfway through my ride he got spooked at some chickens sitting on the gate post, And he launched forward into canter from walk that was his only fault. He jumped smootly and refused once as once again the chickens appeared haha. His trot was nice to sit to and to rise with. His canter was steady and you could tell Abigail had done well re-training him. She took some photo's with her digi camera and said she'd have them ready next time for me to stick on my wall and in my scanner. She's offerd me to ride him again on tuesday, friday, saturday and to take him out on the fields on sunday. Im so pleased but I'm not getting my hopes up after last time.
