I may have the chance to buy my horse...

just want to say i have got my fingers crossed that the owner lets you have him. he looks fantastic now that you have put so much work into him.....good luck!!!!!

I think he's utterly beautiful!

But I can understand what the other posters are saying, things could either go fantastic for you or you could end up with a walking unsellable vets bill...

I bought my horse (probably stupidly) as I couldn't bare to see him passed around or in the wrong hands. He was getting on a bit (actually he was ALOT older than first sold to us) had a terrible attitude (used to bite and kick) underweight and had one of the worst cases of sweet itch I have ever seen. The poor horse must have been in agony with open and infected sores from poor management. Everyone on the yard hated him and I witnessed him being smacked over the head numerous times with head collars, lead ropes and whips.

Rightly or wrongly, we purchased him (unvetted) for £1000 with tack and one trashed rug. He earned his money back and more! He was a fab little horse who did everything I asked, we managed his sweet itch correctly so he had a full mane and tail for the first time in years and I kept him for 11 years until we lost him to colic. If I could clone that horse then I would, in my eyes he was utterly priceless.

Follow your heart, but don't let the owner rip you off! He looks like a fab little horse and could give you years of fun!

Not just yet amymay. The conversation has been had but I am reluctant to say anything until it is all finalised, I am not rushing anything along at the moment.
She is willing to sell him though I will say that :D I will do a proper update thread once I know for certain

Excellent - will look forward to a (hopefully) positive update when you're ready!

Nothing else to say but I agree that he's probably worth about 1k
I've looked after a mare for about 2 years now and I would buy her in a heartbeat except she isn't broken and I don't think her owner would sell her. She's a real gem so nice but it isn't realistic to buy her! I've said goodbye to some nice horses too though. You've done an amazing job. If I were the owner I would give her to you at a reduced price such as £200
