Hi :D

Went to a demonstration at Mysercough College this afternoon; and it was amazing!
I've always been a fan of Monty's, but wow, he nearly had me in tears :o
Kelly was lovely, and easy to talk to :D

This is just a quick post before my internet goes, but here's a picture of me and kelly :

(sorry its so big and I apoligise for looking awful! :D)
:D

You certainly do not look awful!

Kelly is lovely and monty the showman, I too have been to one of their demos and it was inspirational, monty certainly has a way of getting the horse to work with him even though the critics love to pull him down, I certainly saw no sign of cruelty just politely persuading that to do what was asked was a lot easier than rebelling.

Did kelly bring pie with her and another horse can't remember his name was a smaller cob type who when I saw them was very new to it all it was his first demo but as with all the horses (eventually) impecably behaved

I saw them the yesterday at an opening for a new center in Wigan, I was like a starstruck teenager. :D I had a great chat with Kelly who was lovely, Monty was very quiet but made the effort to go round shaking hands with everyone and giving hugs.

I was gutted I didn't get to go to Mysercough, I thought I was going to be in work so didn't get tickets.

That is true(your sig remark) measured my son aon his second birthday, 3 foot 2 and a half inches, guess what he grew to.

I took my 2 year old Crabbet Arab to the demo at the Grange last Friday. About 6 months agon she got her back leg over the fence (no idea how, was big enough to keep our stallion from our mares & she was about 13.2hh at the time) taking a huge section of skin off the front of one hock. It has nearly healed now, just a small scab left to go (she was never lame through all of this) though there is a large bare area of skin where hopfully hair will regrow in the future. Anyway, left her with a phobia of having that leg touched as vet treatment was very uncomfortable to her (each time they changed the dressing the scab came off on the dressing).

Monty didn't choose her for the evening performance, as he had a more dramatic example of a problem to use (those who went will remember the grey pony). What he did do was spend time working with her whilst everything was being set up, one on one (Kelly watching) with her, me in the pen with him as he explained what he was doing. I could not have asked for a better session for her, he ignored time constraints & spent as long with Pip as he felt she needed. He again took the time to run through it with me so that I could continue with her at home.

Monty was generous with his time, appreciated what my girl had been through & worked to put her in a better place with less fear from where she can be less stressed & we may be able to trim her with no stress in the future (as I continue from his instructions). It was actually better than if she had been used, & was very appreciated.

Big tip, these venues are usually large & freezing this time of year! Dress very warmly, blankets (horse or human) also highly recommended. Gloves, hats, scarfs take the lot!
