Because yesterday the precious one was taken to be ridden by the pro eventer who will ride him in competion for me .
J will be produced by me from home and competed by the pro .
I am grateful he has agreed to ride him on that basis .
He went so well for him never put a hoof wrong , hes really getting it now and is very confirmed in his way of going.
I felt excited proud and sad in equal measures.
It's my birthday tomorrow which is probally the reason for this , shall we say reflective post.

May he go on to make you proud. It's a bit like sending the kids off to college; you've done your best to give them a great start in life, a sound education , good manners and a work ethic; the rest is up to fate, opportunities, and giving a push at just the right time.

Thank you for understanding Cortez ,
I have dithered about this since Christmas but now is the time .
The rider was lovely and tried to nudge me towards starting him at comps myself but I don't want to do it I feel I have closed that chapter in my life.

It can be just as much fun, and give you just as much a feeling of accomplishment, to have the best rider for him on him and be a very proud owner/mummy.
