We thought we had found a lovely 148 jumping pony for daughter a few weeks ago but did not buy him because he failed the vetting with a back problem causing lameness in hind legs.

So we thought we had found another - a super little mare with a good bsja record - had her vetted today and she failed with hind leg lameness!

The vet wants to re-test her in two weeks time as he thinks it may be a muscular strain, but the seller won't 'hold' her for me.

So disappointing. A friend has asked me not to go near her event horse incase it 'catches' hind leg lameness from me LOL!

The first 2 horses I wanted failed the vet. I felt just like you do at the time ie mightily fed up, but now I'm very glad they did fail cos the third horse was far, far better & I'm so happy I ended up with him. At the time, I was v v fed up with spending £££ on failed vettings.

The right horse is out there somewhere!!

Years ago, I looked at a lovely little straightforward mare from a tiny riding school that was closing down. Thank god I had her vetted. The first thing the vet did was check her eyes in the gloom of the stable and we had to stop it right there because she was almost blind in one eye and had uveitis in the other that could or could not have progressed. So sad for her but I would have bought a horse that could have had to be pts inside a year. Keep on vetting and believing its all for a purpose coz the right one is out there somewhere, waiting patiently for you to find him
