Having just spent the last three months in hospital with the winter virus, I am at last back looking after Ebony again. I managed to fall over the other day and really smashed my only leg in the process, it was very painfull but I just got on with it as you do. My friend saw my leg yesterday and said it was very swollen and I should see the doctor, went today and have been told that it is a DVT great I was hoping to ride for the first time this weekend and now that is not going to happen. Is there anyone that could help me out and ride Ebony as she really does need the work. Why me, I must have been really bad in a previous life that all this cr.. is happening to me.

On a lighter note the doctor asked me how I fell over, well here we go......

When I go to bed I always prop the leg up against the wall next to the bed. I always make a cup of tea before I get out of bed, so made the tea, and some how the stupid leg fell over and smashed into the bedside table knocking the tea all over, that then fused the lights and it went dark, I had a panic attack and leapt out of bed, never a good idea when you only have one leg !! i fell over well big surprise and smashed into the fireplace. Laying on the floor wondering how the f... I was going to get up well I did, and here we are. So again on a serious note if anyone can help with Ebony that would be great she really is a sweetie and looks after her useless mum.

So the moral of this story is do not leap anywhere when you only have one leg, it will always end in disaster :D:D

That's a moral to live by! I can't remember where you're based huni? Remind us your location if you actually do want help with your saint of a horse, she's a particular hho favourite of mine. :-)

Poor you. Life is just so rubbish at times. I don't know if I've ever posted on any of your threads but I have followed them and am always hugely impressed by your grit and determination and that you have always kept a sense of humour! I hope that doesn't come across as patronising cos that's the last thing I would ever want to be.
I'm a bit far away to come and help you out but wanted to send my moral support.
Just think that your bad luck for 2013 has happened nice and early in the year and that you'll have a wonderful summer with Ebony.
I know you'll keep your chin up but hugs anyway

Thank you, sense of humour keeps you going really, sometimes if you do not laugh you would cry and not going to do that. :D

HUGE ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) I am sure someone near by will be able to help you xxx Why not put a post in the regional section ?

You make and have a cup of tea before you get out of bed?
Cool.

But apart from that, sorry to hear you have hurt yourself. I wish I could help out but too far away. Sending you best wishes and hope you have a speedy recovery.:)

Sorry to hear that you hurt yourself and seem to be having a run of pretty bad luck! Wishing you a speedy recovery! :)
Would help you out but Im a very long way in Sheffield! Hope you find somebody to help you out with Ebony x

I am so sorry I LOL'D at your story:o
*hangs head in shame*
*admits that she also makes herself tea in bed too*
*and hides the odd biscuit in the sock draw*
But if I lived nearer I would help:D

Lol explain this please !!

Well call me lazy, I have a kettle on the bedside table along with tea bags, every night I take up a mug with milk in, so in the morning before I get out of bed have a nice cup of tea then go and do Ebony. Its easier than having to put dam leg on go downstairs make one, its nice a six not to get up straight away :D

Lol you are very organised !! And it is a very good idea, I too am a great lover of my morning tea :D

I am intrigued by this tea making in bed, like a teasmade!

Sorry to hear you have hurt yourself in such a comical manner, I hope that good times and much riding is just around the corner!

Sorry to hear your predicament, although love the way you describe it. Have shared link to this thread on my FB page as we have quite a few people in Kent. Hope someone can help. :) x

P.S. now thinking of cleaning up my yard kettle to put next to the bed. Switching on the kettle has to be my first action of the day. x

AAAAAND.... The winner of the most random (and funniest) thread title so far in 2013 goes to..

EBONYALLEN!

DVT is no joke, had one last year, so hope you get better fast and finally get to enjoy your lovely girl. I am sure she doesn't mind not being ridden but I bet she misses you. Take care xx

Sorry I can't help as I am miles away too :( , I hope you find someone.

and I loled! sorry!

Just to add I got a teasmade (yes they still make them) for Christmas because my OH was going away for a couple of weeks and I HAVE to have my cup of tea before I get up! Tea in bed is the only way to wake up!

Until last august I was in Dover and my horse on the Alkham Valley - I'd have been happy to help you. I have shared on my FB page to see if any of my friends still in the area are able to help. If you do need the help, please let me know and my Mum might help you. She lost her horse earlier this year and doesn't quite know what to do with her weekends..... Also in Dover so on your doorstop.

*extra big hug* I hope you're ok!!! I really really wish I could help you out, it would have been my pleasure to see to Ebony. Sadly I'm too far away :(

Get better sooon! xxx

Really sorry about all your bad luck at present, but you are fantastic to keep a sence of hummor

I did like your version of tea making in bed, fortunately I have an OH who makes me a cupa before I get up, but to be fair until I retired I was first up and made one for him each morning!

Would love to see photo's of Ebony, sounds such a lovely name for a horse. Do hope you get a postive response and someone to help
