I am buying a 6 year old TB and I have just found out he is a cryptorchid. He has bred quite a few foals and they are all fine. He is not stallion like at all, he is very calm and collected and he is out In the field with another stallion a colt and a 17.2 G gelding.. He is just super.
I was speaking to the lady at a vet nr. Tavistock and she said I need to have him castrated it will turn cancerous, I quote Its like a time bomb ready to explode
She said he could be dangerous around spring time because of mares coming into season etc.. but this is a risk I am willing to take.
The only reason I would get him castrated is if it compromised his health in the future. I cannot see why I should do it when he is perfectly fine as he is and his temperament is just to die for.
Am I being selfish?
Any help will be most appreciated :0)
Thank you xx
