i Need help about hi fi senior.

Our paddocks grass is running a bit on the short end so I'm starting to slowly introduce feed back to my horse. Last year I had him on healthy hoofs this year I have bought hi fi senior as a compleat, iv just been reading it's mainly used on older horses my horse is only 7 will he still get all the good stuff he needs from it?
 
I suggest that you ask someone with an older horse to buy the bag from you, or take it back tot he feed merchant and ask to change it for something more suitable. Next time, ask for info in the shop or read the bag carefully, or look it up on line, most feed companies have descriptions of their feed on their websites.
 
Not sure why you bought a senior feed ? I don't feed my 21 year old and 23 year old anything different feed. If you are short of grass then put hay out or tie some hay nets up in the field. If you can't do this then something like Fast Fibre or Kwikbeet would be better than Hi Fi Senior

Really! The Hi-Fi Senior is a blend of grass and alfalfa there is no reason why you cant feed it to your horse to top up the fibre in her diet! We use it as a hay substitute for our competition horses because it is a very clean source of forage!

Three reasons; The horse is only 7 so why a senior feed? Its 10% sugar which I don't believe any horse needs, and it has mould inhibitors! There are loads of hay replacement feeds that are purely Alfalfa/grass
 
Tbh the fact it has senior on the bag doesn't matter, apart from the company upping the price because they are targeting a certain group instead of a general feed or I always find that anyway :)
Agree with clarence09 it has got lower sugar than the average hay and I wouldn't worry about feeding it personally but would go for hay first as a cheaper option than bagged feeds
