Following on from being kicked off my current yard (see my' YO gives my pony colic'........ post) I need a new yard asap.

I could move back to where they were (lovely YO, crap facilities) but I moved for a reason. Mostly the mud and no school.

I want:

24/7 turnout with either grass or hay adlib.
A school (indoor or outdoor, as long as it's ridable)
Somewhere to keep my tack and stuff.
Other horses (got my two but just the two together results in ridiculous seperation anxiety)
Hacking
Under #50 a week for the two.

OR

I want a large field to rent!

Please list any livery you can think of in the area - I'll investiagte any!

I think the only places that might have spaces that MIGHT fit the bill (that I can think of) would be Oxenfoord or Dalkeith Park.

oxenfoord maybe not to sure though, erm i think there is a field for rent in pathhead but itd only be your two as they dont have horses on it, it came with their house i think and i think you have hillhead up at carberry not far from where u are now about five mins i;ll have a bit more of a think may see you today

have ou called sandy? he might have space as was building more stables and might let you live out, few yards have what you want right now.

Ah, now I know which yard you are talking about! I was sure there couldn't be two YO's quite as idiotic, nasty and manic as this one. It is the same one I was chucked off. And countless other people. I think because I was heard to be muttering about the hay I was paying for not being put in the field. Its such a shame, because the facility is so superb. In anyone else's hands it would be a top class livery and competition facility, in hers its run down and miserable. Show organisers no longer want to hold shows there as she cancels on a whim. Is she never going to retire? I so wish someone else would take it on. Its a mile from where I live and I want full livery for 2 horses but theres no way I would go back there. It also means no-one else can ride in the estate - she won't sell permits to non-liveries.

Try Gortonlee or Melville Mains I think its called next to the Glmerton roundabout over the bypass. Both fantastic YO's, well the latter is a working farm. Both have schools though not totally briliiant. Probably better to call into both in person. Not sure if Gortonlee has space for 2 geldings at the moment and the other isn't great hacking. Theres also Kirkettle near Roslin or Temple Farm (but prob has a waiting list). Tynehead too, it has the best school round here probably. I think Lasswade Riding School offers living out livery too.

If you want to cut your costs by offering full livery services to someone else keeping their horse at your yard, let me know!
