I have a 17.00hh ID/TBx who is a poor doer in winter. She is partly clipped for hunting in winter, lives out most of the time, but is well rugged up. But I can never find anything to keep condition on her in the winter.
She once tied up, so I want to keep off any type of grain etc. Last winter I fed her saracen releve, sugar beet, hi fi oil and ad lib hay at the recommended levels, but she is quite picky and still lost some weight. Has anyone got any tasty, conditioning, none heating feed in mind that I could try? I have also tried milk powder, oil, equijewel and calm and condition cubes.

I used d and build up when I bought my horse he was very poor then. Now I use alpha a with oil top spec balancer and topspec cool conditioning cubes. The cubes are high in fibre and protein with no grains or cereals.

Have tried top spec cool and condition, but she won't eat them, Idon't think they are very tasty!

Build up is tasty it comes in mix or nuts.He loved the mix .I only swapped to balancer because it had added hoof supplement I really rate the build up Ollie was 350 kg when I bought him he was 41/2 a tb he now weighs 530 and holds his weight all year. Before top spec I would change to pasture mix in summer and build up in the winter.

There is a new feed out that was recommended to me before I tried top spec. Its called winergy made by spillers it might be suitable .
Sorry just reread your post build up mix wont be any good for your mare in cereal form.

My 2yr old is on the feed trial for Winergy's new conditioning mix. she has put on 20 kg in 3 wks despite eating very little haylage and a fractured jaw.

ready fibre mash from soft and soak range no cerals at all full of highly digestiable fibre inriched with all emeya oils gulose milk powder and loads of other weight and conditioning materials in it full of essential fats brilliant for vetrans its 10.50 a bag and its fab it is ideal for fussy eaters aswell it smells lovely!

Have you spoken to Winergy???? I beleive they are currently trialing a conditioning feed, but all mine are on the equilibrium (various energy levels) and all doing VERY well.... first winter I've not had problems with my TB!

How many feeds a day is she getting?

In the winter which is when we have the problems she gets 2 feeds a day. Last winter she got 2 x scoops of saracen releve, plus alfa a oil, plus 1 cup of veg oil, morning and night, plus ad lib hay, but she still lost weight. She wasn't skeletal or anything, but you could see her last 3 ribs and her tail bone stuck up a bit and she just looked a bit ribby. She is a 17.hh ID/TB cross currently weighing about 630kg, which is about right for her, but she's quite a picky eater too.

Here she is now at her Ok weight, (Not a very good pic) but you can see what type she is.
