I need your creative ideas!!

Just thinking up gymkhana games for a fun halloween PC rally next week.

So far I've thought of apple bobbing and a flag race but using besom brooms instead of flags, and then a cauldron race instead of a mug race. I'm sure there are loads of other things we can do.

Any ideas?

The race where they have to dress up, could you have the costume as something scary, so a witch/ wizard, with a silly wig, a hat, robes and a pair of silly trousers or shorts.

The sack race could be reinvented with white bags with a face on, so it's a ghost?

Years ago the RC I went to did a trick or treat clear round jumping. A bucket was filled with tickets saying trick or treat. Tickets were pre-selected so the courses were altered between the 2. The treat course was simple inviting fences and the trick course had scary fillers, a water tray and a joker fence. Toffee apples were given to every competitor. Because there were no rosettes and everyone got a toffee apple you didn't get moans about it being unfair as it was all for fun

The trick or treat ideas made me think of doing a trick or treat relay race (we tend to divide the kids into teams). They could pick something out of a container which either had a treat (sweets?) or a trick (forfeit - eg round the world, dismount/remount on the wrong side, trot with no stirrups coming back) written on it. As long as we had the same number and type of tricks for each team it would be fair - they just wouldn't know who will get to do it.

Another idea I had was musical pumpkins instead of musical cones.

The ideas are beginning to flow now.

heres an idea to make to apple bobbing funnier for the camera
you need 2 buckets for each player
half fill 1 bucket with water and put one apple in it
half fill the other bucket with flour and apple at the bottom
at the end on each lane put down the bucket with water and at the start of the lane the flour and apple bucket
canter or gallop to the water bucket, dismount and while holding on to your pony stick you head in the bucket and get apple with your teeth and feed it to your pony,no hands!
when apple all eaten turn and run (on your feet holding the pony) back to the flour bucket again just using your mouth get the apple from the flour and feed it to horse just using your mouth,whoever finishes first is the winner. Will be very funny for the camera and you'll get some great shots Plus, it will make their faces all ''ghost like''

another idea, this is for pairs only. Have a piece of string or ribbon, or if you want to be a meanie and give them a hard challange then crep paper. Each rider has to hold one end of the ribbon/string/paper, race down the line side by side without dropping the ribbon, then both have to turn around and race down again (the turn around part will be tricky, and you have to make sure that you are going at the same speed etc) the pair that gets back first without dropping the ribbon, wins

When I was a kid we had to do a race where you cantered (galloped!!) to one end, jumped off, did apple bobbing, and then had to get a polo from underneath a pile of flour (using only your moth) - give the polo to your pony jump back on pony and gallop back! the combination of water from the apple bobbing and flour from the polo search ended in a real mess, but was great fun... even better when the pony you were riding would do the apple bobbing and find the polo for you like mine used to!!

Could you do some kind of flag race but with witches brooms rather then flags?
