can someone tell me what is a non-native breed and what is ? on chaps passport application form it says i need a valid height certificate if he is non-native and 153cm or under.... or nat/cob/trad type 148cm or under...

first off my boy is welsh x trotter so im guessing he falls in non-native????

second where the hell do i get a a height certificate from????

AAAAANNNNNNNNyyyyyyyyy answers very very welcome...
and i know i sound very very numptified atm im having a real long day xxx my brain has shut down xx

if he is registered as PBW then he is classed as a native. BUT depending on type and build depends how you show him,

for exampe, if part registered and you go the native route you can show as un plaited.

if he is more show horse type and you will plait and he is not registered then he is non native.

Height certs.. are done by certain vets, if you have a google of joint measument board it will bring a up a site and should have a list of vets for your area..

certs cover a year and are under hundred quid generally, to obtain a life height cert you first of all have to have an annual one.

still with me?:)

here go go vets list of who can do it.. http://www.thejmbonline.co.uk/jmb measurers.htm

non native then and always plaited..

will go and check the chaps rules as i thought over 15.hh they didnt need a height cert.. how big is he?

Just to confuse you even further!!!!....looking at his picture he could be classed as a small native type in which case you could show him unplaited and untrimmed. Im uncertain of heights with this so I suggest you anyway look on the BSPA website they have a downloadable ref guide to types. If you are "guessing" he is 14.3 then I would think he may well measure in as 14.2 so be ponysize [they are measured unshod] he looks about that, most people over estimate heights, looks like you may have a choice

Im probbaly wrong, but he strikes me as a show hunter type pony - so would be non native. Hes very siimilar to my friends pony (TB x NF) who was one of the top hunter ponies around a few years back.

Hes gorgeous - I likey too !!!! :)
