I own a odd horse...what weirdo things do your do?

Today I noticed him doing something else; he had his back to me and was rummaging around by the hedge, so I had a look at what he was up to. Picking the flowers off a thistle (the fluffy purple bit) and eating them. Carefully.

He is odd.

My old boy used to snip the purple thistles and eat them, i used to be fascinated watching him do it. I haven't the heart to take the thistles down in my paddock, its my first summer without him and i did wonder if my youngster might eat them.

my horse will throw his head up and down in the air as if it is on a hinge if he's being naughty in the field (luckily not when ridden! or i'd get a broken nose :p ) he runs around throwing his head around. He also does this at feed time, but he will then open his mouth, and jolt his jaw from side to side, wiggle it around and roll his tongue around his mouth- it is so bizarre that my friend wanted to call the vet as she thought there was something wrong! He does it every day when he wants his food. He also likes to have wonky nostrils, he swaps sides on which is higher, but they must always be wonky ... My Connemara is very affectionate and has discovered that he gets lots of attention by giving kisses! he reaches his nose out, and actually gives you a kiss by pursing his lips.
