i piaffed!!!!

well i went to visit where i will be going for my working pupil placement and was asked to hop on the grand prix schoolmaster.....

well i have never ridden above medium! with a few changes thrown in...

so hopped on.... walked and did some walk/halt transition to get use to the horse... then some shoulder in.... trotted on both reins, leg-yeild, few small circles..... finished there (only wanted to see me ride quickly).....

then he asked if i had ever done a piaffe...... well no.... i have never had the oppertuinity to ride a horse who can do that!!!!

so he got me to collect the horse, then gave it 2 taps just above the hocks and it went into a beautiful piaffe, just with me squeezing with each leg!!!!!
amazing!!! and so looking forward to going

That's fab! I've only ever piaffed by accident as a prelude to stupidity. I can't imagine how fab it feels to do it properly!

i honestly dont have a clue how to get a horse into piaffe!!! i did more sitting than asking

There is certainly something special about riding a horse that can do all that - I like passage (try it to the apprentice title music) and tempi changes

well when i arrived the daughter was riding the schoolmaster....doing one's across the long diagonal!!! 5 altogether!!!

and shes a year younger than me(17)......just amazing!!!! hoping i can come out riding like that
