So after puppy plan 1 and today plan 2 (wasn’t pregnant) went out the window I decided that it wasn’t to be.
Im not paying over £1000 for a dog. So when a friend sent a link to a site I looked and then scrolled down (as you do) and saw some of interest!
Possibly, mum was a chi X JR and dad was a terrier.
So I messaged thinking possibly, depending on daddy. Theory was if dad was a little scruff I’d be interested.
The lady was lovely, we video called straight away.
Dad belongs to a neighbour and is a little scruff ?
So, with an open mind. Determined not to melt, I asked questions and just chatted with the lady. They are around cats, children. Mum was bigger on film than I’d expected, very much more JR than chi
So, I’m sure you can guess the rest. I have a road trip to Monmouthshire in June ?

Lovely news - I am quite envious, I do miss having a terrier about the place.
Same, I lost my last terrier about 4/5 years ago and hadn’t realised how much I did miss their little characters, until recently with the arrival of my daughters “big bad Basil”
He’s just amazing (they don’t live here though)

Our last was sick from day one and died young after spending most of his life in the vets, and the one before that was gifted to me by a farrier friend who she returned to after about eight months as one day, for no rhyme nor reason, she decided she was going to try and kill my elderly terrier bitch - and nearly doing a good job. She was from Earth work stock, and needed to work. She’s still knocking about with the farrier friend who bred her, he’s offered me lovely Russell’s from her children and grandchildren several times but I wouldn’t touch that line. Too hard, would fight with own shadow. The elder terrier bitch, a long line bred cross of westie and dandie dinmont (with a bit of working Glenn way back), was a really take it as they come terrier and I was mortified with how much damage the Russell did to her.

The ones before those two problematic ones were ace though, I grew up with terriers and with everyone I know having them - most still do, but i don’t know if I’d cope with someone sodding off down holes again or squaring up to every dog that looked at them funny. That said I still get misty eyed over a nice Russell, Sealyham, smooth fox’s and dandie dinmonts. I think corgi’s, which I find have all the terrier quirks without the bits I find a pain (as they have their own unique bits to find a pain!) and character, have probably filled the small dog space. Possibly a wire haired dachshund could be terrier’ish for me at one point. Then again, I say all this and still reckon I’ll end up with something terrier again. I keep seeing some very nice b&t smooth Russell’s lately that catch my eye, and a friend offered me a sporting Lucas pup recently who also very nearly came home.

I was sad to hear the GK litters didn’t pan out for you. Everything happens for a reason though.

That sounds super stressful! I certainly don’t blame you turning down pups with the same lines. Not worth the risk and heart ache.
Sounds like another will worm it’s little way in at some point!

? Aww! Such a cute bundle. ?

Cecil! ? Sounds like a great name.

Aww, he's cute, too. ?
Thank you! In all honesty I hope my pup is a bit less crazy than Basil! He’s like a Duracell battery advert ? flat out, top speed!
Mine will be a fair bit bigger aswell. I’d loose Basil too easily! He’s huge fun to have around though.

The centre is a girl so that was out. I had a black and white before and current dogs are black and b +W so I thought a change, and the fact it has a fatter head and bigger paws when held up!

We chose Pen as she was the biggest pup and her mum was really smaller than OH wouild choose for a lab. (when we went to view he said if that runt is the mother we aren't having one). So, Pen ended up at 19kg, by far the smallest, the same size as her mum, all the others are quite 'normal'. He worships the ground she walks on. :p:D

Now I like a smaller lab. Doug was 18kg and current Spud is not a whole lot over 20kg he’s solid muscle and very athletic looking. I look at normal labs and think they are massive ?

The next one (a bitch) weighs knocking on for 30kg. Give me a little 'un any day! They eat less. :)
