Thank you again for all the kind words - you won't know how much it has meant to read the replies. It's been several months now and I suspect this will be a significant step forward when I look back at things later down the line.

For now, I know I did the right thing for MLP and will focus on letting her memory settle in the good times we shared and the many, many times she made me smile.

You are a very courageous and considerate person and should be proud of yourself for making the hardest decision. You cared for MLP for many years and no one else can judge your decision because they haven't had your experiences. Chin up.
