Got home from work yesterday, all three girls came to the back door to say hello, I looked at Fifi, then looked at her again and her head had swollen up to about three times its normal size leaving her looking like a shar pei, she was also covered in lumps on her hindquarters and the top of her head! YIKES!!

I trotted her off to the vets for a steroid injection and a course of steroids and piriton.

This morning the swelling has virtually gone and throughout she has been fine within herself, roaring around with the other dogs eating fine etc!!

I've seen allergic reactions in dogs before but never on this scale and still don't know what caused it which is rather worrying!

Blinkin' dogs hey!!

How scary!!

We used to have a GSD come into the vets once a year like that, its head was MASSIVE, you can't imagine how big!! That was a bee sting reaction xx

A few years back, one of my lurchers got stung in the mouth by bee/wasp. She came indoors and I did a double take - she was unrecognisable - my initial thought was she'd got a tennis ball stuck in her mouth!

One of my young borzoi girls got stung by a bee last year and her head was massive. She looked like a warthog for serveral days even after a shot from the vets.

My springer rolls bee's round in her mouth and spits them out and they toddle off, hope one doesn't sting her, she had a reaction to something when we first had her, not sure what it was, her head didn't swell that much but she had little lumps which if they weren't treated would have erupted and she'd have been in hell of a mess
