I have Buffy waiting for a referral to eye specialist next week, initial consultation fee £140

, now Saffie has decided to jump on the buy the vet a porsche bandwagon.
To keep it brief, I sometimes get a bag of meat scraps from the butcher, this includes small knuckle bones (pork/lamb I suspect) which I always remove. Darling Saffie found one which I had put on the worktop in the wash house and scarpered with it, by the time I got it from her she had crunched one knuckle off. Next day one very hard motion then lots of straining, by afternoon she had been sick so off we went to vets, Tender to rear of abdomen so x ray, blockage towards rectum, enema should sort it says vet. Nope, neither did second enema, so this am she had to be sedated and have a wash out. Everything hopefully now cleared (but another x ray to make sure)and she seems absoultely fine,but I am another £150 worse off.
Even the vets said I seem to be having a run of bad luck at the moment

Not counting the dogs we have also had cushings pony with a laminitis flare up, and horse with intermittent spells of rubbing his dock raw, which hopefully we have sorted. Thats the plan for a new carpet abandoned for a while longer

I hope they are inviting you to the practice Christmas party - cos it sounds like you're paying for it!

Law of averages says something good should happen soon, and Euromillions is tomorrow!

This is why I am driving around a car with three wheels and haven't bought any clothes for the last, oh, year!
 
I am hoping the good will be Buffys eye problem being something simple, not anything nasty that I would rather not think about

Of course for years all my dogs were insured, breeders block policy etc, but as premiums increased was paying a fortune each month, so changed to more basic policies. My old Chaka was insured, but after having her eye out due to a tumour cancers were of course excluded, and that is what I lost her from, although I actually wouldn't have pursued further treatment. SO Buffy and saffie are not insured, probably over the years, Buffy is 9 and Saff 11 and a half, I am still in pocket by not paying premiums, just would have been nice if they had their dramas a little further apart. Evie is insured for vets fees , so hopefully when she joins in will be a little less painful. When I look at my credit card bill each month there is always more on there for the animals than for the humans, I really need darling daughter to get through the next 2 years and qualify, would save me a fortune.

I came back from vets with instructions for Saff to have light meal, took her in the field and she proceeded to guzzle down a large quantity of horse muck, I swear she was shoving it in with her paws before I could get to her to remove it, not totally sure if it fits the bill of light diet.
