No 1. Was lame behind
No 2 was very light weight not middle as described
No 3 was more like 16. 2 than 16h
No 4 had scars all across her back and was ridden er carefully by dealer
No 5 was barely 15 not 15.2h
No 6 had only done intro not prelim, only a 6 acre uneven field to try. 16.2 not 16h(should have been a 1.5hr journey there but m6/5 meant 3hrs)

No 6. Was a little too whizzy and tense and not worth the asking price (fair enough)

No 7. The aged owners rider never showed up (3 hour trip)

Imho it does appear from reading on here that you are being a bit picky/selective - no offense meant. I can understand not taking a horse that is smaller than advertised but no.3 - it was only a difference of 5cm in height?

Unless you are looking for a horse that is to be around 15.2, and then 10cm can be a big difference :p

I feel your pain. I am looking for 16.2 - 17hh to share with OH, to hack, hunt, event and dressage. Budget 9K for sane and sound. Green would be OK as long as it hacks.

We have travelled.....

1. 2 hours for one with a club foot. The owner said she had never noticed.
2. 2 1/2 hrs for horse that was "footsore" but had obviously had a resection, but when questioned apparently the farrier found nothing.
3. 1 hour for one that was weaving like a pro..... owner said he had never seen him do that before.
4. 3 hours for one that the owner could not mount without being pinned down, and then was backing up and threatening to go up, the feet did leave the floor.
5. A couple that looked nice types but did not look level.
6. Two that were not for me but were nice and well described. Fair enough, at least they were nice enough to have a ride!

I have a dealer looking for me in Ireland next week. Fingers crossed!

See below! I think I'm getting a bit bored!

No 1. Was lame behind (never mind could do GP dressage for the German team)
No 2 was very light weight not middle as described (just feed it until it's too fat then it will be OK for showing)
No 3 was more like 16. 2 than 16h (Definitely would show)
No 4 had scars all across her back and was ridden er carefully by dealer (sorry this is too sad to make fun of)
No 5 was barely 15 not 15.2h (perfect for pony teams)
No 6 had only done intro not prelim, only a 6 acre uneven field to try. 16.2 not 16h(should have been a 1.5hr journey there but m6/5 meant 3hrs)( will hunt)

No 6. Was a little too whizzy and tense and not worth the asking price (fair enough) (has potential but not with you)

No 7. The aged owners rider never showed up (3 hour trip they are still trying to catch it)
(they were still trying to catch it)

Try a reputable dealer? Eliminates all the silly people......

unfortunately because I gave my son money for wedding and house I only have £3.5k

What are you looking for soulfull?

15.1-15.3 MW or cob because of illness can't have coloureds or greys.
safe and sound. Young and green is fine, but nothing over 10yr

Yep looking for 15.2. Illness means I can't cope with rigging grooming bigger, and not safe to stand on step

just not funny. I know I won't get a world beater. But could get the basics right

oh dear oh dear !!

I really really feel your pain !

What are you looking for?

Thanks!

15.1-15.3. Age 5-10. True MW or cob no coloureds or greys (Due to illness)
Green ok but must be safe and Sound! Forward going with brakes.

For more mature slightly disabled lady to do Dr, hack and maybe pop a small fence or two

I've even looked at much more expensive adverts and still nothing

I think you should take a leaf out of ebay's book, and ask endless questions, and ask for videos that show the horse doing the things that you want in particular. For example, standing to a block to be mounted (something that I must have, and make sure all my horses do it) Whenever I sell, I really don't like wasting people's time and vice versa. If they have to travel a distance, I ask them if there's anything they want to see on a video before setting off. It's quick enough to get out, take a quick film and then stick it on youtube, which is what I do.
Good luck with the search!

I've started to insist on videos. But aged lady today didn't have the know how.
I'm seeing one on Monday without videos, but asked lots of questions and only 30 mins away

you really should be able to find something for your budget if you just want a nice safe hack, do a bit of schooling & pop a log or pole or 2 :)

would you not consider something slightly older than 10?

Not really as I'm 50, not in best of health so don't want to take on another later on

Have you looked on Gerty Tynan's site? That's where I got Daisy and she's absolutely what you want (except coloured and short lol) defo check the height has been measured if buying from Ireland unseen and I would also do a tail hair test for PSSM (30 quid).

I'm not brave enough to buy unseen
