We have an absolute white out here and im just mega fed up of it.

I love snow but ffs that's been 3 weeks just about of flipping snow.

I WANT TO RIDE!!!!!

The horses are just miserable out in the field just mooching about.

Can't even get mine out the stable!!!
Was going to ride for the first time in 6 weeks yesterday, due to lameness but foiled again by the snow.....
BTW I've only ridden about 6 times since July as she was lame in other foot then, and I broke my arm in August.
Chin up! Days are getting longer, and this is England.... it will not last!!

PS. I've almost brushed mine away, she has been getting lots of grooming and fuss

Edit - oops just noticed you're in Scotland so I agree you are slightly worse off in respect of the snow!!

awww hope it clears up soon for you, we've just had the snow they've been 'promising' us for a week, so daughter & I don't get to ride this weekend either..it's been months what with everything it makes me sick, flicking through magazines seeing everyone RIDING AAGGHHH!!!!

At least they're out in the field wandering about, not cooped up going nuts..

Tell me about it. Im in Aberdeenshire too, the snow sucks!! And its not even going away yet, today its at its worst. I did ride bareback yesterday in it though as I couldnt bear going another day without riding... (pics in pic gallery).

Me too - and some a*** thought that it would be a good idea to try to drive a 2 wheel drive Volvo estate through a 4 ft snow drift and has blocked our road out of here for three days and the Council have decided that it's a good year to save money by not clearing the roads in the Peak Park.

Keep your peckers up folks, it can't last forever!!

We have hardly ridden all Christmas holidays, and back to school Tuesday. Still, I love snow and will promise never to complain about it! Ponies are happy enough in the field although getting them there can be a bit skiddy.
More snow would be good - we only have ice and a sprinkling of the white stuff, not enough to do any good.

Well out in Norway we are snow ploughing with the tractor twice daily it is really thick. I am scared of riding in these conditions, I have snow studs but still don't like to ride in these conditions. I love my horse too much to risk something going wrong.

This bout of snow will be here for many weeks and I am fed up of no riding, but spring is just around the corner. I am making the most of the time I have with grooming and just bonding with my two. Watching them play in the snow and taking lots of pics.

Spring will mean back to training for my horse and lots of schooling, so we are resting for it now ;-)

My horses end up getting around 3 months break from riding in winter as mostly it is just snow and ice. Wish I was in the UK lol :-)

We were suppose to be moving home but now this plan is off and I am staying here at least a year more :-(

Same here. Sat watching big fat flakes coming down this morning. Not impressed at all.

Oh yes. Went up to the yard - driving up the M1 in a snow blizzard, well, just short of a blizzard lol. Two inches fell while we were at the yard. Dizz is out, as are LC, LL, BC and the Little Boy. They seem happy enough; Dizz will be back in later this afternoon. I put tendon boots on - I'm becoming paranoid about her legs!

Not even thinking about work/riding 'till we move...

Same here. The ice finally looked like it was thawing today but it's now snowing again. It's been three weeks here and I can't say I ever remember it being so bad for so long before.

Yard hun. And yes, just moved.... The current yard is lovely. The people are lovely. The owner is lovely. But, it's nearly eighteen miles away

The M1 has major roadworks on it, which just adds to the travel time

.

We're going to one just down the road from home - less than two miles

. It has a school. The hacking is pretty good. The stables are fine. The people seem nice.

I don't want to move, but the time taken travelling could be so much better used playing with my neds

Me too, i tried to go for a ride today and had to turn round and come back after 100 yards as someone had washed their car and it was sheet ice.........not funny. Have decide not to ride until this big freeze is over, it's just not safe. At least I can turn out and today was sunny at least.
