but I can't because my foot still hurts :(
I came off my moped two weeks ago and my foot still isn't any better. I think i have broken it. Shorly if it was just brusing it would be getting better by now? Has anyone on here broken a foot before? how long was it till you rode again?
This christmas has been a total disaster and is up there with my all time crap xmases (Probably only just behind the year I was told Lucy would be dead by xmas and they year my grandma died)
But even though I've not been able to ride him Herbie has been the one thing that has kept me going over the last few weeks. I go down his field several times a day to see him, (I'm so lame I can't even get him in to brush him) and if he sees me coming he waits by the fence for me to get to him but if he doesn't see me coming he comes running across the field to me when I call him and we stand and have pony kisses and cuddles in the field.
I didn't think I could ever feel this way about another pony after I lost my belovid mare but I realy think Herbie is my second pony of a lifetime.
I know people think he is lucky to have me as his owner but i'm just as lucky to have him as my pony. I realy don't think I could have got through the last few weeks without him and esp xmas day. I'm so glad he came into my life words can't describe how much he means to me.

Pointless post realy but just wanted to share with people who would understand.

I've been bord quite alot lately so I made yet another Herbie Video. I love this song.

Thankyou if you watched the video I hope you liked it, It took ages to make as I wanted it to be perfect :o
I realy can't wait to get back riding but I must try realy hard to be good and let my foot get better ;)
I hope everyone else has had a lovely christmas xx

Right Mrs, First of all get yourself off to A&E and get the foot x-rayed NOW - yes shouty but do it :biggrin3:

and secondly - get some stabilisers for that pesky moped.

Hope things get better soon.

I know I should go to A&E but I also know if it is broken they wouldn't be able to do anything and just tell me to rest it. I can walk on it and i'm resting as much as I can hence not even getting the ponies in to groom them but i work freelance and if I don't work I don't get paid and I can't afford not to work :( Luckly (for the foot anyway) I've had an easy few weeks work wise and it's been prity quiet due to xmas.
I guess another reason for not going to A&E is i've been trying to tell myself it's not broken and just badly brused but although it was swollen it hardly brused at all!

You need to get it X-rayed to see what you've done. You need that foot for a long time and if it is broken and heals wrong you'll have problems with it for ever. When my pony sat on my foot I had a plaster on it for 6 weeks as I had a cracked bone by my ankle but that didn't cause the pain, the pain was from a damaged tendon which took months to stop hurting. (Then I got sciatica from walking funny for so long :( )

(Having a plaster on my ankle didn't stop me riding though :p I was bad back then)

I can't tell you off re.ankle as I'm another who always just let's things sort themselves out.. but have regretted it on occasions..

But just wanted to say - beautiful little film of what looks like an enviable partnership, long may it continue xx

Laura go and get it checked out... even if its a bad sprain you will still be told to rest it... this is a picture of my ankle after I sprained it in the summer. the doctors couldn't believe it wasn't broken, but it did take a good 2 months to get better. my friend who did break her foot at the same time had her recovery put back by weeks as 2 breaks were missed on the initial x-ray. her recovery advise was also to rest her foot but she had a supportive boot to wear so hat she could walk without crutches....

If it is broken and you can't work you can get income support, even if you're self employed. And you don't know what's going on in there. I've just had a plate put in my finger, before x rays it looked like it was dislocated and wasn't hurting at all, even the nurse and doctors were surprised when they saw the x rays and the bone was actually in pieces

Goli Naughty girl ;)

lulup Years ago I broke my wrist. Put a tail bandage on that and ignored it. Wasn't to bad but I re broke it when I broke my hip. I obviously went to the hospital then and had hip operated on (and wrist put in plaster) but i'm still having trouble with the hip :( I think I just need a body transplant from the waist down ;)

Ouch That looks painful sufforkangel. Similer to how my foot was at first but with less brusing.

ridefast oh my hope your finger heals soon.

Lovely vid Laura, but get thee to a doctor and have foot looked at. Sooner it's fixed sooner you will be back on the lovely herbs :-)

Sweet video. Agree with others, go and get it looked at. You might need an air boot or backslab to support it, would be a lot more comfortable.

I broke my foot 8 weeks ago. I had a temporary plaster for one week and then a boot. After 6 weeks was re x rayed, not healing. My fault. kept taking the boot off. Another 3 weeks with the boot. x ray again next week. Foot still painful but wearing the boot, well, most of the time.

Get it sorted now or you will have long term problems.
