. . . and it was FAB.
Stayed in walk . . . underneaths were definitely sore and I had to keep readjusting and putting my leg on made some things twang a little in the pelvic region . . . oh, and getting off caused some twanging too, but it felt so wonderful to be sitting on my beautiful horse again . . . and given that I wasn't wearing spurs or carrying a schooling whip, he did actually respond when I put my leg on and soften and bend.
So . . . watch this space. The plan is to work up to me taking him to some winter dressage (unaffiliated) while the friend who has been riding him does some indoor jumping with him until the next eventing season. By next year, I'd like to think about maybe jumping
