...and he was perfect!! He's had time off as he had a sore foot in November, then I've been working abroad for two months so we thought he'd give him a bit of chilling and growing time (he'll be 6 this year but his growth plates are still open - a typical late-maturing Iberian!).

I was sooo happy to see him after two months. Having imported him last year, I was a bit worried about how he'd adjust to the English winter but I needn't have worried, he has a coat like a Shetland!! (And a belly to match ;)). I loose schooled him on Friday then jumped on for a short ride in the woods yesterday. Despite the wind, pigs, flapping tarpaulins and squeaky bird-scarers he was perfect, all ears pricked and happy to be out. I wonder if he thinks I've ignored him for two months because he was naughty...?!

Sorry for the picture quality - my mum accidentally took a video instead so I had to take a still from that :o

I love my horse!

Tallante - thank you! Unfortunately I'm only back for a few days, but I'll be back for good in Feb so let's get our Spaniards together ;) How is B doing?

Kitsune and Legdancer - you can probably see more pics in my profile but I'm always happy to stick a few up, here are my faves from last year! And he really is hairy, he has feathers all down the backs of his legs and hair so long on his neck that it's gone wavy!!

He's a PRE (pura raza espanole = pure-bred Spanish, the breed formerly known as Andalusian ;)). He's gorgeous, cheeky and possibly the most people-friendly horse I've known! My parents are completely unhorse-y and he charmed the pants off them yesterday. We're getting another one for my OH as we adore P so much, he's a grey and I'm glad my OH will be the one who has to keep him clean!! Here's a pic of him complete with his halo (!) from November, we'll bring him over later this year:
