I should be certified mad!

Update from the kids school (in Hatherop, if that helps

), there was another snow dump at 2.30pm and school is remaining closed as the road conditions are dangerous - however, it should improve by Monday so am keeping my fingers crossed for you

The gas freezing isn't ideal - take avery long extension lead and see if you can hook up and take a kettle with you just in case the gas freezes!

Put a couple of duvets under your sleeping bag and a couple over, a fleece balnket on your pillow stops it feeling so cold, then a hat too. The thermals, trakie bottoms etc go without saying!! I remember a rather chilling training camp at Aston le walls, sub-zero temperatures and no electricity there as it was bust! Ice on the inside of the lorry is not helpful! At least you won't need to switch your fridge on!!

Have spent the evening weighing it up and agree Dingle. I don't mind freezing but the human, dog and equine cargo is too valuable to risk, we are icy at home the main roads could be icy so will do the sensible thing and stay home. Will reassess on Sunday re Pammy and Talland but again won't risk dangerous driving!

I think the little white men that were coming to take me away have gone anyway

A realy shame hope to see you in feb

I don't even know you and I'm glad to hear your decision.:) It's one thing to be puttering along in a 4x4, able to reroute/turn around if necessary, quite another to have horses and dogs on board. Very frustrating but, as said, it's a day in the life and it won't do any of you any good if it all goes wrong.

Anyway, I don't think I could stay in a frozen lorry with my own skinny dog - he's scream the place down and convince everyone within hearing I was trying to kill him by freezing.

By the way, the sleeping in a hat thing really works.

Sensible decision but a shame for you. I decided after many years of winter show jumping not to venture out in my old age if the lorry windscreen needed defrosting! Problem is that is just as likely to be the case in April!

So have Abbey. Which is good as no decisions needed from me, but I am really unconvinced my BD membership will have been worth the money as that's the 3rd one in a row I haven't got to and it only lasts until March
