I should be really angry...........but I'm not!!

I can't see a funny side at all. Sounds to me like a youngster got scared, which is a bloody stupid thing to do with babies, and chucked him off.
I think it is irresponsible behaviour all round.

If someone did that to mine I would use my whip on them.

Blimey, you sound amused by it all.............I would throw a complete fit, I am so protective of my horses that I wouldn't know whether to cry or go for the throat. In fact, I do NOT trust anyone with my beauties except my husband.

Actually now I've thought about it a bit more, I'm bloody furious. I think the fact they were both laughing it off rubbed off on me earlier.
My poor Axey

I'm sure it was funny at the time but I know what he's like and I hope this hasn't upset him.

I would be really angry if anyone tried it with my horses. Only exception is my YO who is a great friend and a much better rider than me.

No, it wasn't really the smartest thing for them to do with a 5 year old then. I think your friend should have known better than to let them ride him and it would be her that I would be disappointed in. I wouldn't be furious, like most others on here, but I would feel disappointed that I wouldn't be able to trust a friend not to allow a potentially damaging situation to arise.

I wouldn't have an issue with anyone riding my 5 year olds......but NOT without my permission and certainly not with the permission of a so-called friend.

Thanks Tia, Hannah is a good friend and loves Axey, her brother can ride so he's not a complete numpty.
Tbh I don't have a problem that he wanted to sit on Axey and ride him up to the yard from the field, quite a lot of people do this although I never have.
I don't think they were expecting him to react like he did and probably quite rightly didn't want to end with him throwing him off. I'm pleased that he did actually manage to get on him eventually without him being silly, and he walked quietly up to the yard.
Axey had lots of pats and cuddles off of Ali and he really seemed to like him a lot.

But like you say I am a bit disappointed that they decided to do such a thing with my horse, but fortunately nobody was hurt and Axey wasn't upset by it which is the main thing.

Ah okay, sorry didn't realise he was a rider. Well in that case I wouldn't really have bothered too much, but I would suggest to them to ask me in future if they wanted to pop on him - I'd probably say yes as I'm not funny at all with others riding my horses. Sounds like it was under controlled conditions therefore no it would not have been a big deal to me and I wouldn't fall out with my friend for it now that you have explained the whole story.

Sorry, I didn't really explain this very well in my first post, yes he can ride and I'm not fussy about other people riding my horse at all.
Hannah has ridden him lots of times and I have ridden her horse too, as have lots of my friends.
