Well after today's dramas I toddled off to Patchetts with William to FINALLY do some jumping on him. He's not competed since Charlton Park last September. The Monday schedules at Patchetts start with NC, go up to 130, then do BN and Disco. So although he was jumping NCs outdoors last summer I thought we'd ease ourselves back in doing the BN and Disco. BN didn't start till about 7.30 pm... Warmed up rather nicely, always a revelation looking in the mirrors when we go there: yes my thighs are fat (although the new Sarm Hippique boots are lush and do wonders for my calves
), and my pony, however crap he feels in his mouth persists in looking pretty and well behaved. So thinking he's Mr Invincible anyway he prances past the mirrors every time admiring himself. However after the usual warm-up close shaves he started getting quite agressive towards other horses, and then proceeded to attck his reflection as we rode past! Twice!!!
Oh, yeah, the jumping... well popped round the BN very nicely, didn't pull off all the turns in the JO but kept moving, and lo and behold we came 2nd! That's the first time he's won prize money WOOHOO. Then jumped even better in the Disco, but had an upright down coming out of a related when I chased him a little instead of just sitting there which probably would have done nicely...
So a much better end to the day than start
