I should not look at Preloved - Scary ad

Maybe her parents are just as deluded as she is...poor girl. Come to think of it.....I removed a ragnail from one of my fingers last week....anyone need any plastic surgery done....will do it for chocolate.... :D

My face needs help, looks like an arse at the moment :o Giant buttons ok?

@ Bigbenji....LOL....:D
Just lie on your side and everyone will wonder what you're grinning at....
Invoice on it's way for Out of Hours Consultation....3 bags, please :D

Yes please!
Seriously, though, don't Preloved have a duty of care to children under 18? The rest of the UK does. This young person gets an A for initiative, but is putting herself at risk in all sorts of ways, and if her parent/s do know about this ad, someone with a different sense of what parental responsibility needs to have a wee chat with them before the local children's social services do.

This is from her "Confident rider post"

Need your horse riding on weekends? Not got time? Don't worry, I'm a confident and competent rider, I'm only 13 (nearly 14) but a experienced, confident and competent rider. I live in Doncaster;must be in or around Doncaster! Charge £10 for half an hour riding in the school , £17 for an hour riding in the school, £25 for a nice long hack or for two hours riding in the school it would be £30 of exercising your horse. Will be more than happy to groom and tack up before riding, so no need to worry about that! More than one horse to be ridden will be cheaper

please don't hesitate to get in touch and ask questions.

Thanks:-)x

I do feel she's heading for a fall, quite ,literally, shame as she has initiative!

Well I charge less than that! She not that cheap!

Firstly I have to say fair play to a teenager trying to show a bit of initative, rather than sitting around and relying on handouts from mummy and daddy! Suggest someone who who has a preloved account drop her an email just offering a bit of advice etc - she many well be suited to helping an owner with a pony that could do with some manners!

Fantastic, I will pay the child's bus fare to come to me. I will be looking for a crash test dummy for Ted in the future. I am sure the experience of sky diving from a 17.2hh (minimum) will be a life changing experience.

* snorts *
Lol, i have experienced this, and the comment did make me laugh, its the landing that i had issues with :D

i did similar (sort of) at the age of 13 - parents told me that i had to prove i could look after a horse before they would get me one - cue me knocking on local yards doors and ending up working for (and riding out at) a national hunt yard :D

fair play to her and her initiative - but yes - i agree its very risky for her - and i'd hope that it doesnt all end in tears

absolutely, fair play to the girl for showing a little initiative and a work ethic. Im sure she will go far later in life.

Out of interest though, i wonder what the legal situation would be if some numpty person replied to her ad and invited her to a ride/'tame' their horse for her at the rate stipulated in her ad and ended up getting hurt?

For a start, she's a minor. Now, i dont know the law is regarding whether you can actually have a legal contract of work with a minor? Would you not need her parents permission?
Let alone give one responsibility for such potentially dangerous work without getting your arse well and truly sued and that's before she's broken her back falling off your wayward neddy trying to 'tame' it and you find yourself having to fork out for her medical costs for the rest of your life if the ***** really hits the fan.

I cant imagine any insurance company would touch her with a bargepole so very much doubt she'd be insured.

I could see some potential very nasty consequences in law of employing this young lady under the terms of her 'advert.'

Good luck to her though, i like her attitude even if she is full of youthful over confidence ;)

Fair play to her, although it's mildly optimistic.

Al advertised locally when she was 11/12, as a willing pony squisher. She had mum's permission and full supervision when the ad was drafted and she had her instructor's backing too. She actually did quite well out of it and ended up with 3 ponies to ride and school, who she was paid to take to rallies and competitions. She had a great time doing it and learnt a lot, and I think was mildly gutted when she outgrew them. From it, she was also given a fabulous pony on loan (owner knew her from the riding of the other ponies) and also had quite a few ponies she just rode once or twice to remind them how nice they had life with their proper riders!

I don't like the internet advertising. All Al's was done locally at competitions and PC stuff. But it's enterprising!

like to see her come and try to 'tame' my tb, she'd end up on the floor :p not all horses are riding school ponies! so naive!

to be completely fair, you cant really make a statement like that without knowing someone's ability.
True, she sounds very over confident and the legal potential pitfalls of anyone taking her up on her advert are debatable, but there's a chance for her age she's a very capable little jockey.
You might be surprised, there's some fantastic little riders out there. i dont think she deserves such derision.

also, i cant see where it says her only experience is of riding school ponies.

True, true.
Can't see the ad, can anyone give a synopsis?
