Yep just got bronced off riding in the field. Was bringing my other guy back into work slowly so my friend and I thought a little pootle around the field would be a good intro. Mare got excited and went for it. At home now nursing my swollen wrist. So what are your thoughts riding in your pasture (15 acres), is it wrong or should they be respectful enough to behave and suck it up. Just to add she then recieved some serious ground work and I got back on, very subdued
Hubby said he would poo pick for me so it's not all bad.

Ouch! Hope it's nothing serious. Personally I expect horses to behave regardless of where they are ridden, although they can be different at 'home'

That's horses for you! Mine is normally angelic, but had a pretty good go at depositing me in the middle of the local common a few weeks ago. I don't mind the odd bounce about when they're feeling well - shows personality.

Best way to prevent broncing is to kick on and ride through it!

Generally I've been at yards without sand schools/arenas, so I've always ridden in the resting fields (with the YO's permission).

i expect them to behave in a big field or little paddock, big girl does sometimes have a difference in opinion on that though but i can usually tell as soon as we enter the field if she's going to pee about.

I would expect to be able to ride anywhere but I do find they are more likely to be nonsensical in their own field.

We ride in our field a lot, ground permitting, as we don't have a school. However, the hay field they do get sillier in, but nothing awful. Because they go in it less often, & when they do its full of lush grass, they associate it with having a blast, turned out or ridden.

Exactly my thoughts , I often thought when I see her having a hooley " Glad I am not her back right now" Had her 5yrs and its a first, hopefully the last. Ibrubrufen (SP) works wonders.
