I smell a rat

I saw dozens of these adverts when i was looking for my new horse, they are always around the thousand pound mark, they always use the same stock pictures, always Fresians and they always are in broken English claiming all sorts of weird and wonderful things eg horse is good with all classes of pets (arent you relieved he ll be nice to your hamster)

They seem to be the new "Nigerian Lottery" type scam.
 
Yep....they have gypsy vanner adverts up all over the place too. Mostly with google images! x
 
Also same horse advertised on dutch site with location in holland...

Like the way it will become a clam near children - neat trick

I believe you call them, and they say a load of rubbish to try and get you to transfer the money before going to view/pickup the horse, they say they'll send it to you blah blah blah. That's what i've heard anyway....someone should ring and see how they work, i'm certainly not brave enough!!
 
Whilst that ad is obviously a scam to get bank details/money, there are also some "rescue" sites that have horses for so called adoption at equally high sums. Personally, if I wanted to adopt/rescue a horse I would go to one of the approved charities like WHW not somewhere that is unregistered etc and really are just dealing.
 
Yep, def got knackers. And if you got hungry all you need to do is show it a child and it'll have clams? I think that's what they're getting at....? Anyone brave enough to email and ask if it would event to affiliated level and do water polo?
 
They've got a friesiana for sale if anyone is interested lol. Seems they only really change the picture between each advert, definitely some sort of scam.
 
Well, that's the horse that I rang about 3 months ago. It was a Spanish guy I spoke to, he now lives in Dublin and says that where the horse is. He has had his leg appertated and can't ride anymore. I even felt sorry for him. He asked me to pay £600 to the haulage company and then if I was happy with the horse pay the rest a week later. He kept sending photos of the said horse and info about it but the name of the horse kept changing in every paragraph. When I told him that I was in Ireland and wanted to view he stopped all contact. Give him a ring it's funny listening to him, just don't get believing what he says.

Did you report it to the advertisers? Wonder if anyone has done likewise with this ad - the only way to stop these scammers.
 
I just hope no-one actually falls for this. A couple of years back someone I know who has a small hotel took a booking from one of these scams and lost a few hundred quid. You would think some of their ads must work for them to keep doing it.
 
Now this is odd.Firstly, the Email address. There is a Christina Holmes ,born in Solihull, watercolour artist, does a lot of horse pictures ,especialy western style. The background in the picture is in my opinion ,southern England.Christina Holmes is currently living in Los Angeles,southern California.Though she worked in England up until a few years ago.the only picture my sources have located of Christina Holmes do in fact look rather like the rider. PS I,m not Mike 007 for nothing:D
 
Also selling various dogs and the same horse in spain ,Atlanta Georgia and a host of other countries. Does this horse have frequent flier miles or what.:D
 
Makes you wonder how much they make from this con. Oh he also turns up in various scandinavian countries.
