Last week I had a vet student doing the night shift with me, so he could see some foalings and we had 2 through the whole week - last night I had THREE of the beggars and I was alone!!!!! 1 BIG filly, 1 HUGEAMONGOUS colt and a titchy colt. I am exhausted - but I just cannae sleep........

Hello - I've had a hot chocolate - I drank it and ate a banana, whilst watching the horses work on the gallops this morning! Forgot my camera though!

I am enjoying it - to a point!! I think I will enjoy it more, once I am leaving work in daylight, I am living on site and B & H are closer to me!

It never rains but it pours!!!!!!!!!

Don't you know the bosses scheduled things just like this for you (they couldn't have wished for a better test could they?

) Still imagine it when the titch wins the Derby, you won't feel tired then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hot choccy or failing that if you really want to be knocked out, have a dose of Actifed; puts me out like a light!

Hi hun! Nearly wasn't - the biggest foal shot out like a torpedo (imagine me flying back with a wet, slippery giant propelled onto my lap) and the titchy one was quite a difficult foaling - both maiden mares, but the ickle fella's Mama is titchy too - bless her, she was kinda sore and sensibley stayed down for ages afterwards!!

Well, the banana answers your question! Don't you know you're meant to go on and play a tennis match after one of those!

LOL - titch is seriously well bred, so no joke there - stranger things have happened!

I can't allow myself to be knocked out, as the contractor personage is finally coming round to fix the hole in my bath, the light in the bathroom (there is only one - been using candles for the past 3 weeks!!!) and the shower!!! Yes, I STINK!!!! Ha haaaa, no not really, been going to the local leisure centre!!! fecking nuisance!

Are they all mine - God no!!! Not a single one is mine!! I'd hate the vet bills - they be TB's bound for a career in mainly flat racing, though I suppose some may end up going over jumps.

PMSL!!!!! Hmmm and there was I thinking how healthy I was being!

The Bertolini was out of a VERY chromed mare, but doesn't have that much on it, itself considering! The SP was large, but no, the giant was the Avonbridge! I reckon it must be a good 70+kgs (we weigh them on bridge, so I'll know later). BB's are good, but this is very much his make or break year as far as being a sire is concerned eh!

LOL!! NOT a good idea!! It's NOT supposed to be public knowledge where I work!!!!

ETS - not that I don't want to see you or anyone else for that matter - you'll just have to pm me ..........................

Hector is getting on well. Mum went to see him last week and said he's lost loads of weight - to be expected after weaning, glad I had fattened him up!! Looks like I may be keeping him till he's broken .........

Totally typical - little beggars (it's the foalies that decide when to come out after all!!)

No, I can't believe I am still up either!!

PMSL! It was the same at the vets - the all night colics would wait until we had no students to help and then all come at once. We had a tv crew at the hospital one week and didn't have a single night time emergency op despite them eating chocolate hob nobs all night every night (chocolate hob nobs were the kiss of death if we were on duty!)
