... every time I come onto this forum, something goes wrong with my pony ?
My pony was brought in today and was apparently not right on the way in. I’ve had a good look at him, trotted him up, felt all over and I can’t see anything glaring, he’s just not ‘right’
He’s barefoot and has been a bit footy on stony paths over the weekend, it’s been so wet his feet really do suffer and get a bit soft. I’ve got my farrier coming tomorrow to have a look, if no improvement then it’ll be a vet visit! Unfortunately it’s pretty much a year to the day since he last went foot sore, and then after a period of box rest he tied up the day before Christmas Eve ( and then he subsequently was diagnosed with PSSM)
Feeling very very deflated (and worried). Originally thought it was a hind foot, but looking at how he’s walking it looks like all 4 to me. No sign of a tie up as far as I can see ??‍♀️
f*cking horses

It sounds like a PSSM issue to me. Mines never tied up in the classical sense, but footiness followed by not being right like you describe is her being symptomatic. I'd be reviewing my PSSM management and seeing what I could change to improve it. I think you probably need to look at boots or shoeing as well if the footiness isn't PSSM related. PSSM horses need exercising daily, ideally twice a day and you will struggle to do that if he's foot sore

He’s been well managed ever since diagnosis. Daily turnout, exercised 6 days a week. Correct diet. Well rugged up, ridden in exercise sheets. Nothing has changed in his management. He hasn’t been symptomatic since he tied up.
His tying up was awful, his CK was 40,000 and AST off the chart. His feet had been so much better on his new diet and exercise plan. But it does seem like a massive coincidence that it’s virtually to the day that our issues started last year.
